Has anyone stayed in a specific 1br @vwl that they would recommend requesting? I have a ressie for 10/31-11/8...but the only request I put in was non-smoking (I'm still a newbie!)

Hi Tracy M
I'm a newbie too! But from reading these boards most people prefer higher floors (3 4 5) and near the elevator. I have no specfic info on rms as our 1st trip to VWL is not until dec. If you use the search function on this board at the bottom of the page and search VWL rooms you might get some threads that will give you more info. Have fun!

We had a 3rd floor room right next to the elevator and it was just about perfect. No long hall walks; great view of the pool and a glimpse of the bay (ask for a pool view). We couldn't have been happier with the room.

I have been trying to figure out what "the perfect room" would be, as we have a 2 br for Sept.
I feel I may be getting just a tad ridiculous with my request list, and I am not sure it is worth worrying about.
My request list:
  • non-smoking
  • upper floor
  • woods view
  • open balcony
  • non-handicapped
I probably missed a couple, but you get the idea.
Have fun!

Yasuern.....I'll be sure to let you know how I make out in Nov. for your Dec. trip. I bought Nov. 01 on my last trip, so this will be my first trip home!

The thread regarding the handicapped rooms made me a little nervous. I never would of thought they would give you a handicapped room unless requested. However, reading further it doesn't seem to make as big of a difference with the 1br. versus the studio. I have young children and definitely need the tub!

GrammieMame....your room sounded perfect! I think I will email my requests to member services.

Thanks for all replies:)

We stayed in 2512 a few weeks ago. It was near the elevators and had a view of the pool and could even see a bit of the lagoon. It was a nice, quiet room. We thought we might request third or fourth floor next time, but hope to be in the same general area. Good luck and have a great time!

I've stayed in #4524 twice, it is the first room off the elevator on the right, and you overlook the open lobby below. It is a nonsmoking 1 bedroom that is right above the front door (but 3 floors up :) ) The view is wooded and you can see the bus stop, but it was very quiet, we had no problem with noise at all from inside or outside. The balcony is pretty private, as you have no neighboring balconies, only there is a hallway window to the right, that if people bothered to look out of and to the left they could see you. Because of the covered walkway to the villas, no one from the ground can see you. I would stay there again.

I posted earlier that we had stayed in 2512 and had a nice view of the pool and partial view of the lagoon - but my DH corrected me when he got home and said we were in 2511. I wanted to make that little correction!:D
