Thinking 5A or 4A, depending upon pricing. Assuming will get priced out of Concierge, but would love to try it!

Family of 4, so larger balcony for Alaska is probably beneficial?

Go!! and Thanks!!

Love my Deck 2 Oceanview.... it's like a climate controlled balcony. The mid-ship Oceanviews offer a bigger window... possibly big enough for kids to sleep in.

I recommend port side for views and starboard for privacy (except in Vancouver).

Family of 4? Dual rooms means extra bathroom.... vs balcony for similar price.

I've done ocean view deck 2, also. For us, we'd rather spend the extra money on excursions. There are lots of places on deck to enjoy the view, both indoors and outdoors.

From reports I've read about verandahs, I've seen both where people say it is a must for Alaska and ones where people say it was a waste of money because they didn't use it because it was too cold and they had better views on the decks. Think about your own particular family. Will they love sitting on their own private balcony? Will they be too cold out there to enjoy it? Would you rather hang out quietly alone or be around other cruises where you can socialize? Just some stuff to think about, but some of the pictures I've seen have shown some very small balconies, so I would suggest a larger one for a family of 4 for sure.

Thanks. It does seem like a waste without 4 chairs on the balcony. Not sure what cat I have to book to get that?
