I'll be in Orlando on my own Sept 20-25 for a business trip (can't bring the family :sad2: ). I'll have a rental can and happen to be staying on I-drive (cheap timeshare deal). I don't plan to buy park tickets since I'll only have my evenings free. But I though this might be a chance to try some restaurants at the disney hotels and resorts. I'm already familiar with CitiWalk and Downtown Disney (though I guess DTD has changed in the last year or so?). I love kitschy theming like Rainforest Cafe.

What are some good restaurants to try?

How is the restaurant at the Polynesian?
Is there one at the AK Wilderness lodge?

TIA.

If you like Rainforest why not try the new T REX ?

Both places at the POLY are great....Kona and Ohana

WL has... Whispering Canyon which if fun and the skillet is good.

AKL has.... Boma=great, Sanaa...I haven't tried but it's getting good reviews.

Outside of WDW there are a ton of good places like Bahama Breeze and then there are the usual, but good, Golden Corral type places. If you look on the Orlando Attractions board there are always threads about restaurants.

Check the menus on http://allears.net/din/dining.htm they are listed by location. There are also reviews and ratings.

We enjoy Flying Fish on the boardwalk. Cat Cora's Kouzzina is opening soon on the Boardwalk as well and it looks interesting.
You can wander around the Boardwalk and watch the higher fireworks from Illuminations or a movie on the beach at the Beach Club.

Raglan Road in DTD has surprisingly good food and there is entertainment some nights.

If you are looking for a light meal many of the lounges serve a limited menu from the higher end restaurants. With the MK resorts (GF, Contemporary, Poly, WL) you can watch the MK fireworks from the beach and the little light parade in the water (forget the name).

I have not done it but the Hoop Dee Doo at Fort Wilderness gets good reviews.

If you are on a business trip does that mean you are on an expense account? If so, maybe now is the time to spring for something special - Victoria & Albert's. If that is out too expensive maybe Tchoup Chop over at the Royal Pacific.

Yeah, I've been to Texas de Brazil and loved it. I'd recommend it, but it wasn't cheap, though I thought I did get what I paid for.

Thanks to all, I've never been to Raglan Rd., I think I'll try that. Or maybe I'll try 'em all. :cool1:
