We won't be doing Disney on our next Orlando trip, but we may go for a character breakfast/brunch/lunch in one of the Disney hotels one morning. We are young adults with..."mixed feelings" about character breakfasts...!

What would you recommend?

For what it's worth, I have done O'Hana (nice atmosphere, food was meh), 1900 Park Fayre (loved the food, wasn't so keen on the theming, felt very enclosed) and Cape May (kinda meh...) but these were 3-6 years ago.

We had a character breakfast at the tusker house at AK and really enjoyed it. The food was fabulous and lots of variety. X

Chef Mickeys probably has the biggest choice of food for a resort character meal with some nice choices.

I fancy this but almost fainted when I saw the price :scared1:

Thanks for the other suggestions, however we won't be buying park tickets so it will have to be something at one of the hotels. Looks like the three I've done and Chef Mickeys are the only 4 available.

The Hilton at downtown Disney do a character breakfast on a Sunday Minnie mouse Pluto and brer bear and brer fox are there it isnt reservations though it's first come.
Need to find the price for this I have seen it on their Facebook page

Also garden grove at the swan also have character breakfast on the weekend goofy and Pluto on Saturdays goofy Pluto chip and sale on Sundays.
Price: $20.99 adult

We are trying the one at the swan for dinner on a Tuesday evening though as they have timon and rafiki there and are looking forward to seeing some different characters at the meal.
Price: $28.99

Just thought as you weren't on the dining plan you could also consider these two.

Thanks for the info! Didn't know about either of those two so that's very helpful.

No problem I have asked on their Facebook page for a price at the Hilton as can't find it in my notebook

We like chef mickey but both times went at 7am opening so it was clean, food fresh and not too busy or noisy. It is pricey though.

For a bit more you could do the backyard bbq at Ft wilderness and it includes all u care to drink alcohol. We are trying this in October. Linda (Linda67) went recently adults only and her review is on the restaurant review board - olympic eating with team GB.

my favorite remains Ohana's, but early, before it gets crowded and noisy (and at a time where there is still few parties so the characters can come 2 times at your table.

I guess it also depends on your kid. Young or older, boy or girl, they may not have the same favorite characters.

when you go with young adults (you did mention that) I guess it also depends on your fzvorite characters (I wouldn't go for the food only)

I love the "family style" at Ohana's.
Buffets are also great but I always end up too stuffed.

We also enjoyed Ohana character breakfast, we went later in the morning and interaction was good and food plentiful. When Stitch saw my 2 year old wearing Stitch ears, he made a massive fuss and took her by the hand in a parade all the way around the restaurant!

Just my opinion but I wouldn't do any if paying OOP, I don't think there is one worth the money, done them all(except Cape May) on DDP and don't think any are even worth a dining credit.
This time we did Tusker House, for 5 adults & 1 child it came to over $200 plus about $35 tip. I don't think we had $35 value of food never mind the $200.
We are just not a breakfast family, a coffee, juice & toast is all I can consume early morning.
Ohana was very poor 2 years ago for us, Mickey never got to our table, waited long enough so left without seeing him, again really just me and mornings, I am an evening eater.
I know its in a park but CP last year we had to ask the server to get characters to us, they were just so slow at coming around.
If I had to choose one it would be Chef Mickeys, both for breakfast and dinner.

We have just done chef mickey's on Monday morning. I was a bit sceptical but I must say the food was plentiful, fresh and delicious. I enjoyed the atmosphere here with the monorail going past and we had a great view across bay lake where they were para sailing.

I would go with Chef Mickeys too for breakfast.
I think they are better value at breakfast than at dinner..

I've done Chef Mickeys, crystal palace, Ohana's and 1900 and I liked them all but thought the character interaction and food were better at Chef Mickeys and 1900.

Chef Mickey's has a good atmosphere but can get pretty noisy but I think that's all part of it.

Hope you enjoy which ever one you decide on!

We have been to a good number of character meals: Cinderella's Royal Table, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey's, Garden Grove and Akershus. Most are very rushed affairs. However, the exception to this is the Garden Grove in the Swan hotel (near Epcot). The breakfast at weekends had Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale. It is much more relaxed than the other places and Pluto and Chip even came back round again. You do not need prior reservations. The menu can be seen on the Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin website. The weekend character buffet costs $21.99 for adults. I thought the food was superior to the other buffets. A la carte is also available. The dinners were good too. We were staying at the Swan and had lots of undivided attention fom the characters. By the end of the 2 weeks we had become good friends with Pluto and Goofy.

We had a horrible experience at Chef Mickey's the other year and I found 1900 Park Fare incredibly noisy. Hope you have a good holiday.:cheer2:
