We will be enjoying the magic on my sons 10th birthday. Can you recommend a memorable dining experience for him.

:welcome: to The DisBoards!
My DS10 loved dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe. He loved the All-You-Care-To-Eat Skillet-and he loved the antics that the restaurant is famous for! :upsidedow

I just called my nephew (who was 10 when we went in April) and he said that his favorite meal from the trip was the Hoop-dee-doo revue. It's a lot of fun and we thought that the food was very good. They performers roam around the audience and ask if there are people celebrating so they can sing to them all, etc. It was really enjoyable for the whole family.

On the same trip we celebrated my 5 year old twins birthday at Chef Mickey's and that was also very fun - the whole family enjoyed that too. The character interaction there was great, the kids got a special birthday placemat, and at one point Pluto was at the table with them while they were singing the birthday song.

My DS loved celebrating his birthday in Coral Reef. He loves seeing the sharks and sea turtles. He jsut loves the huge fish tank. The divers held up a birthday sign and the cake I ordered was great!

The Trex restaurant that is due to open in 2008 is where we will have lunch this year for his birthday. He did celebrate breakfast with Stitch at OHana and he loved that too. SHHh don' tell anyone he has an image to protect.

The 50's Prime Time Cafe at MGM would be my suggestion. It's like walking into a 1950's era kitchen. The waiters/waitresses will treat you just like "family".
For example: "Uncle Tim" our waiter told my dad (72) to remove his cap and he told my son (13) to remove his elbows from the table and he gave my daughter (16) the LOOK for not eating the tomato that came with her sandwich. ANd I think he gave to all of us (mom and sister, too) for NOT keeping in touch with him.
Can you believe, after he took our order my son asked if he was really RELATED to us. :scared1: :lmao:

It depends upon his temperment and interests. For a shy kid, WCC and 50s Primetime could be a nightmare. Some 10 yr. olds still like dining with the characters, while others find it embarrassing. Would he appreciate a more grown-up dining experience? You could try California Grill and time your ADR to see Wishes. If he's an adventurous eater, the Japanese restaurant might be fun.

My 10 year old god daughter loved eating at Planet Hollywood.

She said it made her feel "cool". :cool1:

10 years old, I would say O'hana's.i would make the reservation at or about the same time the fireworks are happening at the magic kingdom, the food is good and there is an entertainer there as well.

happy Birthday to him

Welcome to the Dis, Mattandashlynn! We are glad you found us! :thumbsup2

My DS's choice for his special meal of our trips is usually ESPN on the Boardwalk. This of course is followed by a game or 2 and a souvenir in the gift shop/arcade.

We like to do this for lunch on our day at Epcot as it is a quick walk out the International Gateway and a nice way to break up a full day at the park.

Chef Mickeys without a doubt!!! Order your cake a few days before, maybe bring a few balloons from the park like we did then either rent one of the firework party boat packages they offer or head to MK for wishes...We did this for my son's suprise 10th and he loved it

We love Chef Mickeys! We also like the Coral reef for under the sea views. the atmosphere at Sci Fi Drive In is cool!
