So far I know we'll definitely be doing CRT and the Askerhus (sp?) princess meals since DD (3) is obsessed with princesses. I thought Chef Mickeys seemed like a good one to do the day we arrive (for dinner) to get in the "Disney" spirit. I don't think there's really anything that will appeal to DS (7) as he's not a huge Disney fan (well, he likes Toy Story and stuff like that, but too bad there's nothing like that that would excite him  ). We plan on going to T-Rex one night for him and doing the breakfast at Universal for him as well. Anyways, are there any other character meals that we should do? DD really loves all things Disney -- Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, all the old Disney movies, etc. so I guess this will all mostly be for her.

(Why don't they have any meals geared towards boys?? they could have Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., Peter Pan/Capt. Hook, Phineas & Ferb, etc.)

I would recommend Ohana for both your kids. That Character Breakfast has Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stich. Even if they have no idea who Lilo and Stich are (mine didn't their first time) it's still a fun place to have breakfast. They do a character parade to music and it's very fun. This is the one place my kids demand to go back to every visit.

I'd suggest the Garden Grill in Epcot. Good food and atmosphere, and Mickey, Pluto and Chip and Dale are there. I think it's the best character meal at WDW.

I second 'Ohana Lilo and Stitch breakfast. Our boys always enjoyed it when they were young. In addition to Lilo and Stitch, Mickey and Pluto show up as well as Minnie. Mickey leads a cute parade with the kids around the restaurant every 1/2 hour or so.

The food is tasty and we also liked that it is brought to the table instead of buffet style.

I recommend Crystal Palace and Donald's Safari Breakfast. Good food for everyone, and the kids get to get up and move around with the characters.

Cape May Cafe is great for plenty of character interaction too, and they'll get to see Minnie in her beach outfit!

Honestly my still lights up at Mickey, Minnie etc (he's 6.5). My daughter who is 3 wouldn't be into Lilo and Stitch....so I say go for a more traditional char. breakfast. Heck we even love Crystal Palace!!!

I "Third" (or is it "Fourth") Breakfast at 'Ohana's !

We've been about 4x over the years and the kids loved it at all ages... even see little 'babies' in the parade...

I've been to WDW with DS - now - 18 probably around 10 times...

HE LOVES CRT! He Loves the attention from the Princesses... His favorite meals would be # 1 Teppan Edo and #2 CRT...

Have a magical visit !

Mary

Another vote for breakfast at Tusker's House in AK. It's safari themed with Donald, Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. My DS (now 5) loves it there!

Both of my kids also love CRT. They have a boy thing (sword) and he LOVES the princesses -- they are all so beautiful to him. :) And they make such a big deal over having a prince in the castle.

Crystal Palace lunch with Pooh and friends is fun too! They aren't too girly and even my DH and I love having our pics made with such classic characters!!!

Oh my word, if they had a Phineas and Ferb meal we would so be there. That is one that all of the kids would enjoy! I agree, they need more character meals for boys, especially the seven and up set. I can't believe they don't have a Pirates meal or a Toy Story meal - it seems like either of those would be huge money makers.

Personally, I think that they should do away with Playhouse Disney at Hollywood & Vine and do a Toy Story character breakfast.

I agree. We LOVE 'Ohana. We have ADR's for this October. Can't wait!!

We're also doing Akershus. Never been before, but DD loves the princesses, so I'm sure it will be great. Kinda sad that they don't have mickey waffles, though...

Tusker House in Animal Kindom

Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy all in Safari outfits - they spend a lot of time on the restaurant and have a littl eparade with the kids.

The food is great too.

The cast members here have always been great too

I recommend the Crystal Palace. My little one loved the Pooh characters and you can't beat the Crystal Palace's location. The food isn't bad either.

We loved the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious breakfast at the grand floridian and loved it! The food was great, the character interaction was wonderful (the Mad Hatter stole the show). Even the non-talking characters (Pooh and Tigger) had us laughing and were playing around.

Everyone always talked about the Tuskar House breakfast so we booked that and that was by far our most disappointing character meal of the whole trip. There was little to no character interaction. They came over gave my daughter a hug, signed her book and was on their way. Even she was bored with it (and she loves characters, even if they don't talk).

Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House! It ends rather early for most Disney breakfasts at about 10:30am.

Lots of choices for food. Characters are Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald (outside for photos), and Goofy.

We had our first and only character dining experience 2 weeks ago at Crystal Palace for lunch. It was fantastic! Winnie and friends were great with the kids, and thanks to our early reservation, we didn't have to wait in long lines to reach the buffet. The food was quite good and the CMs were great.

WOW! The Dis hasn't come up with an abbreviation for that?:rotfl:

If NOT...I think you need to make one up !

I haven't heard of this b'fast but I'd like to try it ...just so I can come back home and type that word on the DIS...:lmao:
HUGS,

There are lots of good ones out there, but I would definitely take into consideration which characters are your children's favorites because that will make a huge difference. For instance, we went to CP a couple of years ago. It was wonderful and my dd loved it. However, she is a little older now (still only 5) and really doesn't enjoy the Pooh gang at all. So, even though I thought it was wonderful and we had a grand time when we went, we are trying 'Ohana this time because her favorite characters are now Lilo and Stitch. I go for her, so I go where the characters she likes are. :)

We'll be heading for the first time to WDW with my twin boys. Although I know they'll love the character meals we end up choosing, they would go BANANAS to hang with Phineas & Ferb, Pirates or Toy Story characters at a meal!

very surprised Disney hasnt tapped into that more seeing as how popular the Princess meals are.
