So for Christmas I'm thinking of asking for some books that I can read when I'm at home,in the hospital, etc.

I've already got:
The Notebook - Nicholas Sparks
A Walk to Remember - Nicholas Sparks
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - J.K. Rowling.

If you've read any of these books, could you please tell me if they were good or just a waste of time?
I really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Sonya.

I'll always recommend Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse.
The Uglies Series
Lovely Bones
Kingdom Keepers

twilight is a must

i have to do an oral presentation for eclipse

I'm a huge Anthony Horowitz fan, all of his books are good, especially The Gatekeepers and the Alex Rider series.

Cirque du Freak (Darren Shan) was pretty good, I despise the ending though. 13ish books will last you a bit.

Wolf Brother is another excellent series. (Michelle Paver)

Walter Dean Myers is an amazing author. I loved his book Monster.

I can't think of any other authors at the moment...

I was going to do an oral presentation for one of the books and dress up as Bella, but since I go to a private Christian school, my teacher doesn't like the idea of demonic creatures :(
So I'm just doing Kingdom Keepers instead and dressing up as a guy :)

Of course I'm going to say that the Harry Potter books are amazing and never a waste of time. ;)

I haven't read A Walk to Remember or The Notebook, but the movies were good. lol

Recently I read Sybil, by Flora Rheta Schreiber. It's an amazing book, but I don't know how interested you would be in it. It's nonfiction and at times it deals with some pretty mature issues. You should look it up and see if maybe it's something you'd like.

Harry potter books of course.
Life as we knew it.
The da vinci code. [Just finished this, it was amazing.]
Angels and Demons
Deception Point
Digital Fortress [I'm starting to read this. And it's really good.]
Twilight Series
Meg Cabot books.

Guitar Girl-Sarra Manning
Pretty Things-Sarra Manning
Lets Get Lost- Sarra Manning
Looking For Alaska-can't remember(this book changed my life)
Wicked-Gregory Mcguire
Water For Elephants-can't remember
Green Angel-can't remember
The parks of being a wallflower-don't remember.
STOP PRETENDING-the story of what happened when my big sister went crazy-don't remember.

Stotan and Ironman are really good books. I read them last year in English and I fell in love with them.

Well Sonya since you read The Notebook so read The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks.
Its kinda the follow-up, but not really, i've mentioned it on another thread before.

i didnt like a walk to remember. i dont know, there was just something about it. i would ignore me, though, because everyone else i know loved it. as for the goblet of fire, i liked it.

recomendations: the sevenwaters trilogy by juliet marillier (sp?). the first book is daughter of the forest. the second is son of shadows, and the third is child of the prophecy. theyre the most amazing books ever.

As an avid reader I recomened "The Kingdom Keepers" by Ridley Pearson. It is a 300 page fantasy novel that takes place in Walt Disney World.

Some of my favorites:
Angels and Demons by Dan Brown (SO much better than DaVinci Code, in my opinion... DaVinci Code's good, but Angels and Demons is AMAZING.)
The Devil Wears Prada
The Gossip Girl series
The It Girl series (spin-off of Gossip Girl, featuring the character Jenny)
Sweet Valley High: Senior Year series
The Alanna series by Tamora Pierce (my all time favorite series!)

the true confessions of charlote doyle
j coriander
pirates!
harry potter series:goodvibes

I agree. Also Golden Compass series.

I completely disagree. I think that series is a horrible series. Especially the last book. =[

I do however like "The Truth About Forever" by Sarah Dessen. One of my favorites. And anything by Laurie Halse Anderson like "Speak" or "Catalyst". They're great. She's my favorite author.
