It seems like the writers are reaching for jokes now. The geek humor was natural. Now not so much. I still enjoy it but not nearly as much as I used to.

you won't find a funnier show than "the big bang theory". jim parsons is amazing! i highly recommend watching the previous seasons through netflix.

Parks and Rec is another good show. The first season wasn't great but the show improved a lot in season 2. I can't wait for season 3 to start.

See now Hubby says Big Bang is funny because he works with people just like the characters in the show. He works in computers & I've met many of them & yes, they are that geeky. And most of our friends are that geeky as well.

My hubby does as well and I've known many over the top super intelligent people (think Mensa is "beneath" them type people). They don't act like the geeks in that show.

I am insulted by some of the geekiness in the show.. they are mocking in some ways. It's the "over the top" ness which bothers me, many I know sort of "hide" it because of so many previous awkward situations.

Exactly!!! How many jokes can you do? It's overwritten and dare I say they sort of "dumbed down the geeks"... it just isn't funny anymore.
