I won a trip to Florida from a Florida tourism website. The hotel they provided is Gaylord Palms & we are booked there on 2/19, 20 & 21. However, in order to not waste half a day of precious trip time (and to coincide with offered flights) we are coming in around 11:30pm on 2/18. I need a hotel for that Wed nite, 2/18.

I did price GP for that nite and cheapest was coming up around $258. Since it will be late I hate to pay that much for the one extra night. Just not worth it. I had planned on staying at one of the hotels in the Marriott Village, however, for some reason they have been booked for months. (I haven't checked to see if there is a special event going on or not). The old offsite hotels we used to stay at have evidently all long changed chain affiliations as I am having troubles matching up where we have stayed years ago.

I did find thru this boards link the Buena Vista Suites on World Center Drive for $121.50 total for that date. Anyone have any experience with this one and is location somewhat close to GP so we can haul our stuff over without much inconvience?

I did price out Value Resorts a month or two ago but they were popping up around $140 or so with 3 adults & a 16 year old.

Anyone have a recommendation for a reasonably priced hotel that would be clean and comfortable and provide somewhat convenient access to Gaylord Palms? And yes, we will be provided with a rental car so moving from the one hotel to the next will not be an issue. Or should I just grab the BV Suites?

There is a Hampton Inn and the Celebration Radisson nearby. Both should be int the $70-90 range. I have only stayed at the Radisson, and our last stay there was several years ago. It's not bad for a short stay; some of their rooms are well maintained while others are showing wear and tear.

You might want to check tripadvisor for current reviews...but both properties are close.

Have a great stay. I hear Gaylord is fabulous.

Since you are already staying at GP's, I would try calling them directly and see what they can do for you price wise.

The place is fantastic and so convenient. You would definately have a great first night in Orlando..we love the place.

We've had friends use the Radisson Celebration lately and it was very nice.

Thanks guys. I probably will trying calling them directly and see if they can do anything a bit more reasonable on Wed night.

I check the Hampton on Calypso Cay Way which appears to be closest and that came up at $149 and the one on Palm Parkway is $119 and a bit more mucky to get too.

If I can't them to come down a bit, I'll just do the BV Suites and then watch for last minute deals. If we were coming in around supper I wouldn't hesitate to pull in a couple of places or call when we get there, but coming in close to midnight I want to be able to get there and go to sleep.

Avoid the hampton inn - I checked out of there as fast as I checked in - Bed bugs. The raddison is tolerable for 1 night - If you dont "have" to be close to the GLP - Spring hill marriott near the CC is my favorite reasnably priced hotel in Orlando. Have you considered staying at the airport - we are staying at the hyatt our last night in Orlado - is 160.00 a night. Whip

the cheapest and one of the closest offsite hotels is Rodeway Inn - now I did go and look it - as advertised.

my problem in those days Spicey traveled with me - much too close to US 192 (when this road is 4 lanes on each side). Now Spicey never ran away from me. but that is always a fear when traveling with pets or children - no matter how silly.

don't know about bed begs.

trip advisor has no reviews of the place.

BVS has just undergone (or is currently in the midst of) a major renovation. The location is very close to the GP.

You might also check with Dreams Unlimited. They get some good deals on the GP. I had the ICE! package booked for Christmas (including an atrium room) for only $159 (a better deal than GP could offer me directly).

Good luck and have a wonderful trip (the GP is gorgeous! ::yes::)!

The Galleria Palms is very nice and fairly close to Gaylord resort. It is newly renovated and has continental breakfast. They usually have a rate under $100.00. It is on 192 but sits off of the road so it is very quiet.
