Recommedations for digital cameras??

All the brands mentioned are good. A very important consideration is battery life. Cameras that use rechargeable AA batteries will chew up and spit out batteries like there is no tommorrow. I have had a Sony going on 4 years now that came with it's own LION (lithium ion) battery. It gets close to 200 minutes of life per charge. Realize that you don't leave you camera on all the time. I have used this Sony on 2 trips to Disney and really didn't have to charge to battery even after 2 days of use. It still had around 30 mins on battery time. Of course time will vary depending on your LCD display. etc. I can only tell you of my experience and and have been more than pleased with the Sony from an ease of use , quality, battery life and picture quality standpoint.

My Nikon 950 uses 4 aa batteries and they last for at least 200 minutes. I use the LCD display when I am shooting all the time.
The Nikon 5000 uses the same type of battery you have and I seem to get the same amount of time with it. I have spares for both and chargers for both.

The Nikon CoolPix 4300 is the best of the lot. It is user friendly to the novice, yet it has features that surpass most other cameras for more experienced users. You can't go wrong with this camera.

I just got a Sony DSC-V1 & absolutely love it......It's compact with a ton of features & the pics are fabulous.......The rechargable batteries are great too.

Entertainment card holders get an additional $50 off at Dell.....So, when they're running their 10% off digicams, there are some great deals to be had.

anyone use or know about the olympus stylus 410- i like that it is "splash proof".

Yep, it is a GREAT camera and one of my top picks.

You can read all about it on the Olympus web site.

I have the Fuji A303 too, and we love it. Someday I would like more optical zoom, but we bought this because it was small and easy to transport. It takes AA batteries, and we bought 4 rechargeables, so we always have a spare set. On our last 8 day trip, I only changed them once. I love the xd card, I know it's not standard, but it's tiny and easy to carry several extras.
