Reclassified or True Nav. Verandah?

Hi. We have stayed in a cat. 5 before, but on our next cruise we want to save a little $$$, so we're looking at going with cat 7. We have the chance to snag one of the reclassified 7's (#7120) but I had thought we'd try the "true" Nav. Verandah this trip. But maybe the reclassified is too good to pass up? Like I said, we've done the full verandah before and enjoyed it, but it wasn't the highlight of our trip, if you know what I mean. If you could choose, would you go with the reclassified or the true navigator's verandah and why? Thanks.

One year we had a tiny verandah. It was nice. I enjoyed sitting out there when I got back to the room around 3 am every morning after a night of fun! If the verandah is not going to make or brake the trip and it would save money to get the smaller one, go for the smaller verandah. It is still very nice!

Both verandahs are the same size, actually all verandahs are the same size, except for those in the suites and those at the very aft of the ship.

I'd say go with 7120, since the only difference is that you'll be able to see more. The limited theming on the "true" Navigator's verandah is really nothing to write home about. That said, I wouldn't say having one instead of the other would ever make or break my trip. We always go with category 7, after being in cat. 5 on our first cruise, because of the price. But for the same price, I'd take one of the re-classified rooms.

I always ask for the re-classified rooms first, then go with a regular navigator's verandah if one isn't available. I actually would rather be on deck 7, so my personal breakdown of the category 7 rooms would be:

1. 7120 or 7620
2. any other cat. 7 on deck 7
3. 6134 or 6634
4. any other cat. 7 on deck 6
5. any cat. 7 on deck 5

The reclassifieds look to be more private than the regular verandahs since you only have neighbors on one side. Not that that is any big deal, but like Barb says on the Castaway site, having a neighbor on one side only, reduces your chances of having a smoker next door by 50%.

There are only two sets of connecting category 7 rooms: 6140-6142 and 6640-6642. All four rooms have "traditional" Navigator's verandahs. None of the re-classified rooms are connecting.
