The entire concept of "organized" religion has reached a point of nothing more than a place to go and justify spreading hatred and one upmanship. Instead of love it tolerates hate. Instead of moral leadership it is full out political which is anything but moral. I am at the age where people that never thought about it much are clinging to some degree of hope mixed with fear of afterlife at the same time becoming more and more self-righteous and inflexible. That attitude has pushed me completely away for that particular slight of hand. I can have morality and know that just because I think something doesn't mean everyone else has to think the same. I will continue to live whatever life I have left using my own knowledge of right and wrong and not depend on others to tell me what that is. I will continue to be able to understand why people need that connection but reject the social requirement of participating in it.

Well, I decided instead to celebrate my own religion's holy day today, which is International Sarcasm Day. As a Pastafarian, I generally serve pasta at celebrations, so tonight is spaghetti and sea scallops.

Also excited about tomorrow's holy day ... British Comedy Quotes day. Might have to do fish & chips for that one. Or else strawberry tart without so much rat in it.
