Recipe ideas for a cheap wedding reception/party

To one bag of little smokies add 1 reg can of pineapple chunks. Put in casserole dish and sprinkle 5 T of brown sugar. Heat at 350 for 20 min. Use fancy toothpicks to skewer 1 smokie and 1 pineapple chunk. Transfer to clean dish. Very good sweet and savory.

Check your local walmart. They often make subs in their deli. They are really well priced and very tasty. I prefer them over subway even. My dear friend used these subs for her son's graduation parts. They even give you the condiments and lettuce, tomato sliced for people to put on their subs.

Since it's a wedding reception at 2pm, I would buy everything at Costco. You can class it up a bit, with an early dinner.

Appetizer: cheese and crackers

Drinks: soda, water, (wine and beer optional) or just punch in a great big bowl

Food Buffet Style: 30 people - two honey spiral hams(just needs to be warmed up), Rice or mashed potato (can be made on the stove top), Salad (can be made the night before, just put tomatoes, olives and cucumbers at the bottom of the salad, toss and put dressing on the side right before serving) and rolls and butter.

Dessert: Costco sheet cake (cheap and feeds a lot of people) and sooo good.

Can't get any easier then that, keep it simple and the cost is low by buying everything at Costco.

LOL! It's ok thanks for the suggestions. I just wish we had a costco in the area The people that supply food to Mcdonald's just opened a non membership club food store right by me, I think I'm going to have to check that out. I think it's called Gold Coast Foods or something similar?


And to everyone else, I thank each and every one of you! You all gave me so many good ideas!!! I'm definitly going to put a lot of these to use.
