I need some help with a recipe please. :flower3:

My Mom made the best pork and sauerkraut with potatoes and I never got the recipe from her before she passed away. :sad1: I've tried to make it myself several times, but the meat always turns out dry and the rest of the casserole tastes, well, sort of yucky.

Does anyone on here have a good recipe they can pass along to me? :)

TIA!

My grandmother used to fix a dish like this. I don't have an exact recipe but this is about how it went: Large pack of pork ribs and a couple of cans of sauerkraut (or 1 large can). She always fixed in a crockpot so the meat was always moist and tender. She would add the potatoes near the end because they would cook too long if added earlier. Sometimes she would add a little ketchup for a sweet tomato taste. Not exactly a recipe but hope this helps! It was delicious.

I don't put potatoes in mine, I cook them separately. (usually mashed potatoes with this recipe.)

2 lbs boneless pork ribs.
32 oz sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
1/4 c brown sugar
10.5 oz condensed french onion soup

Put pork on bottom of casserole, cover with sauerkraut, top with brown sugar and undiluted soup. Cover and bake for 3 or 4 hours at 350 degrees. Can uncover for the last half hour to crisp it up.

I haven't made ribs in a while, I'll have to make some next week now!

Maybe it is the kind of saurerkraut you are using? I like all kinds, but prefer Bauvarian (sp?) it is sweeter than normal kraut is.
