Any tried and true recipes for this? A friend of mine raves about it but does not have a recipe. A google search turned up too many to choose from. Most recipes call for the noodles to be uncooked but softened by the dressing.

i have one that i just love! i made it over the weekend for a birthday party and it was a big hit.

2 pkg of oriental noodles
1 bad of broccoli slaw
handful of sunflower seeds
handful of sliced almonds

dressing:
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
3/4 cup oil
and both seasoning pkgs from the noodles.

mix all dressing together and pour over the salad.

you must make this the night before so everything soaks up the dressing and the noodles soften. (or at least 8hrs)

i usually put chicken in mine and make a meal of it! really really good.

hope you like it! :teeth:

I make that recipe everytime I am asked to bring something to a party and it is always the hit!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

Funny, my family LOVES this type of salad when the noodles are still crunchy. If we have any leftover, they won't eat it when the noodles have softened.

I prefer it with the noodles crunchy too.
I actually had one somewhere recently where you could tell they cooked the noodles first. Oh and they did not break them up. It was hard to eat.

What's broccoli slaw? I never heard of it?

Broccoli slaw is delicious. At our store its in the produce section in a bag by the coleslaw but its broccoli cut up instead of cabbage. Its a nice change, just use it the same way you would coleslaw.

Both of the recipes that I have you do NOT want the noodles soft. You add the dressing right before serving. It is a crunchy salad using cole slaw and other ingredients....

if you would like recipes let me know...people LOVE them.
