Received a Southwest e-mail about "deals". I wasn't going to bother opening it, because they never fit into our plans. But boy am I glad I did! I re-entered our dates and the exact same flights came up over $250 cheaper, divided by four people traveling. DH was at the airport leaving for a biz trip, so he stopped at the SW counter. Since we booked on-line, we had to change it on line. All I had to do was pull up our confirmation number, clicked change flight and $264 was credited to our SW account to use for a future flight, which we have to use within the year. It literally took me less than 5 minutes! This why we always choose SW. Our airports might be a bit farther away, but for the prices and services (no change fee, free bags), Southwest works for us!

Wow - question about changes - can you switch airports if a better deal comes up at a nearby airport?

Our same flight has tripled with SW since we purchased (purchase in Dec. and are flying to New Orleans end of May and returning in June) and I check every week but they continue to go up. I'm so thankful I purchased when I did. Got flight for $84 only way NS for 3 adults and which made it 168.00 RT and now it's up to $383.00 Rt for same flight both Non Stop.
I think that prices depend on where you live because we always have the cheapest cost on SW when they are first released and continue to climb after that.

I booked yesterday I was all ready to pay 1200.00 threw airtan with bag fess. I just happened to check SW yesterday and they had 67.00 flights. We had to move our vacation up a week and add a night but it was only 665.00 for 4 non-stop flights roundtrip out of Manchester NH. The extra night with dining plan was only 180.00. So I still eneded up saving a huge chunk of change.

We only paid 950.00 last year threw airtran with bag fess. But I thought those days were gone. There are so many on the September thread with flights more than 1200.00 for 4. I was so excited I booked. After I booked I went back in to check and my outbout flight already went up to 119.00.

I would think an airport change can be made as well. Our actuall flight (Non-stop, both ways - good for our ADHD DD8 - about the same travel time!) is actually cheaper out of Indy (by another $150), but it takes us an extra 45 minutes to an hour to drive there. We live in Dayton, OH.

The worst that can happen is when you get ready to change, and the price is isn't right, you can decline the changes.

That's what we usually run into. I have never saved after booking the tickets. On the other hand the price goes up or at best remains the same.

Good for you. I've been waiting to book my flight for May. It's been alternating between $150 each way and a "sale" price of $149 each way.

probably 75% of the time our flights price go down on SW so that's why we always fly with them when we can. :cool1:
