Reception Options for Intimate Brides

Thanks so much, Melichar! I am so happy to hear that Disney came to their senses concerning intimate brides and the Illuminations dessert parties. This new fact changes my whole plan....for the better, of course! Did you have any problems reserving at Narcoosees for so many people? I have heard that it is a great restaurant. I think you will be very pleased with Damon Tucci. Several brides on the board used him and only have wonderful things to say about his work.

In other news, Janine recently indicated that the private dining department at the Grand Floridian is willing and able to help intimate brides. She is having a private dinner and Wishes dessert party at the GF marina (or close to it). The number to call for this type of event is 407-824-2473.

Keep those comments coming everyone!!!
WDWbride2007,

I'm happy to hear the dessert party works well with your plans! Narcosse's was very accomodating, we had to book the first seating and were told that they would seat us together. The woman we spoke to on the phone (my finance, is trying to find the name), also gave us the information about taking prices and choices off the menu, and personalization with our names and dates. When we find the name, I'll let you know.

That is more great news about private dining at the GF helping intimate brides with private events!

The people on this board are wonderful and have been so helpful in sharing information to plan our perfect wedding!

B001015,

You can book the dessert party directly with your EM. Jennfier gave us a list with all of the options and choices.

Is there anywhere around the Yacht Club area that has a private/semi private room for about 20 people? I was having a custom wedding but now seems like more and more of Dh2b family are dropping out so i may have to go down to an intimate!

i am also having an escape wedding sbp at 2:30, fulton's starts dinner at 4-which is an 1 1/2 hrs before anywhere else. sm private rooms can hold 30- we have 10 so we are just creating menu from off their dinner and our table will be away from anyone(very slow time) you can also order right from menu. been struggling w/ same issue forever. private rm for lunch min is 1,100 not bad at all....

Hi,

Thanks for gathering this information, it is frustrating trying to figure all this out. We are getting married at the Pavilion on February 6, and we just came back from a short visit at Disney, and wanted to share that we met with Jennfier, our EM, who is very nice, and she confirmed that intimate brides are now allowed to wear their gowns if they have an Illuminations dessert party. The total for 20 people would come out to approx 1,500.00.

We have booked dinner at Narcosse's for 20, - we stopped by our last day there, but it was too early in the day and was not open - but it looks so nice, I hope it all works out well.

Also, regarding photograhers, we have booked Damon Tucci. We met him on this trip and loved him, and his work is amazing, very beautiful, elegant and stylish, and I think his prices are around the same range as Randy Chapman. We tried to book Randy at first, but he wasn't available. I am happy we are going with Damon, he isn't mentioned as much a Randy, but his work is outstanding.

In order to wear your wedding dress at illuminations parties, don't you have to pay extra for the special transportation, like $400+ or have they totally changed the rules to allow all brides for no additional cost to wear wedding attire??

Victoria & Alberts has a private room available for $1750 for the first 10 guests, $135 for each guest after that, up to a total of 21 guests.

Its the same menu they would be serving in the main room that night.

Welcome, where in Pa are you? In a TR there was a dinner at chef Mickeys and bride did wear gown.

Has anyone had their reception at chef mickies? Were you able to wear your wedding dress?

The bride who did this was Tiggerific04 in August this year. She posted pics on her TR and she did wear her wedding dress to dinner. She also rode the monorail from the GF to the Contemporary in her wedding dress. Check out her TR for the photos!

I just booked dinner at Narcoossee's at the GF for dinner after our Escape ceremony. They'll only seat a large group at 5:30 (right when they open) so that's what we're doing. They also want you to do a limited menu with a set price, which is good for planning purposes and seems to be reasonably priced (compared to the custom reception we were going to do). It's $65 ppn and you get family style appetizers, I think they said I could choose 3, 3 choices of soups and salads for everyone to choose from, 3 entrees everyone can choose from and 3 desserts for everyone to choose from. They add 18% gratuity, but that's pretty standard for large parties. I'll post more info as I get it. By the way, you need to call the restaurant directly to book this - the regular dining info line transferred me over there.
