Does anyone have any sample menu for their reception that you're willing to share? I'm just trying to see what my options are with what Disney has made in the past (I know that they can basically do anything my checkbook will provide for) :) :sunny:

Ive just worked out mine and we are having -

Fruit Display with Yoghurt Dip and Cheese Display for the Pre Reception
Shrimp Cocktail for the starter
Caesar Salad
A choice of Onion Crusted Chicken or Medallions of Beef in a port wine and onion sauce
Dessert we are just having our wedding cake as we are having a dessert party afterwards.

I think the most expensive was the beef and that worked out at $75pp for everything.

Laura- are you having people choose before hand what they are having? How will you handle this? On the invitation response card? I really want to offer a choice but crown service is crazy in price!

Our pre-reception and reception menu's: (From our planning session)

appetizers - passed during cocktail hour:
1)mini crab quesadilla with fruit salsa
2)mini crab cake with mango salsa
3)scallop wrapped in bacon

Dinner:

Potatoes pave
Seasonal vegetables

The last picture shows the whole dinner except the beef without the maytag blue cheese and panko crust!

I hope that helps a little....everything was so delicious! Just to add...the duel plate dinner is 55.00 and the three appetizers are 19.95 per person!

LauraFoster, that sounds delcious--let me know how the beef is--I know that's something the DF is going to insist upon. ;)
JonetteA, I'd love to see the menu if you don't mind, my e-mail is gradar1@aim.com
RustFlwr3- I love the little Mickey on the plate, that's adorable! I've never had scallops before--are they good? ;) (I am not known for my culinary taste, but DF is definitely expanding that--he got me to try she-crab soup for the first time....come to think of it, I'd love to include that in my menu, just for the sentimentality of it. :) )
TwoJo21-I wasn't able to see your pic of the menu on my computer, I'll have to put it on the DF's comp to see it better.
Does Disney offer pasta as an option? That's something I'd love to serve, as spagetti (and every other thing Italian) is one of my favorite foods.

Gradar1 - you should be able to ask your EM or your EC for sample menu's for the locations you are looking at. The ones we got had a breakdown of the different choices. Each location has it's own menu/type of cuisine.. For example, at the California Grill, you have to work within their existing menu. Ariel's/CapeMay/Living Seas will have lots of seafood choices, the restaurant at Italy will have lots of Italian choices, etc.

Maybe take a look at the standard menu's for the restaurants you are looking at to get an idea of what's possible.

Yes we are offering a choice. I will send out a menu in september, my EM told me that i need to give them 30 days notice of what people want.

She also said the best way to have a "flawless" service is to only offer 2 choices. That way on your place cards you can discreetly mark who is beef and who is chicken etc. On mine, ive got some little mickey heads in silver and gold. Im going to stick those on my place cards, silver for chicken and gold for beef etc. That way the waiters know who is having what without the guests having to remember or them having to ask the guests.

Hope that helps!

The scallops that MGM prepared were delicious! Im not a big fan of them anywhere else, but my fiance loves them! They were originally on the plate because of him, but I am insisting on having them now, because they were just THAT good! mmm, she-crab soup sounds so good! Good Luck with your decision!

we customized our dinner & prereception menus. for dinner we had garden salads with a garlic & vinaigrette dressing, canadian bacon cheddar soup (le cellier style), custom chicken scampi with angel hair in a garlic cream sauce, beef tenderloin with white truffle potatoes, our wedding cake & tiramisu in a chocolate cup with berries on the side for dessert. for our prereception we had fruit & vegetable displays along with custom pierogis, etc. the food was fabolous.

Laura thank you...yes that makes perfect sense and I love the idea of the 2 different colored mickeys.

Twojo, that sounds delicious! I love the bacon cheddar soup that Le Cellier has--what a great choice! ;)
LauraFoster--that's a great idea with the different colored Mickeys on the placecards--did Disney do your placecards, or did you do them yourself?

Ive made them myself, i just brought some plain place cards and im having a friend do the names in calligraphy. Im hopefully going to buy some mickey confetti and stick those onto the placecards.

I think it was a really good idea, i wanted a smooth service but i also wanted to give my guests a choice!
