We currently have the GF ballroom reserved for our reception. I don't want just a plain ballroom look but don't have enough guests for really unusual locations, like the American Adventure. Does anyone have any suggestions and/or photos of the ballrooms on property dressed up?
Thanks

My DH and I had our reception at the GF and added extras to make the room look different. My DH was in a band for years and played so many wedding he was totally against a standard ballroom look so we added our own touch and made it very different. We added pin spotting lighting which was so elegant, ficus trees with white lights around the outside of the room, candles on the table and the pin spotting castle and fireworks on the wall and a rose on the dance floor. It was the most beautiful room.
Here is our website so you can see our pictures.

I am feel the same way. I didn't want just a regular ballroom because I could get that here in Michigan!
You could look into Ariel's or the Living seas. They are not huge or anything, I am having mine at the living seas and there are going to be ab out 60 people there.

Let me know if that helps you any or not!

JoD - i am having my reception with the trees in the GF ballroom, so your pictures were perfect for me! looks like you guys had a great time!

you can also look at locations like the attic which is good for smaller parties.

I also did not want to have a plain ballroom either, so we went with Living Seas. I was not entirely wow'd by it when we visited it on our tour (we also checked out Ariels) but I trusted the SM and she was right it has an incredible WOW factor when its decorated and full of people. We had about 45 people and it fit perfectly.

We also had a caricature artist, and I can not recommend that enough! These work great as favors to your guests.

We are having our reception at the Atlantic Dance Hall on the Boardwalk. The great thing about it is we do not need much to decorate because it has its own theme and decor as a 1040's Dance hall. The only downfall is its not a sit down dinner because the table sized are small, but it make room for people to interact more with eachother.

JoD,

I can't get to your pictures because it says to enter a user name and password. Could you tell us what they are so we can see them. Thanks.

Jennifer, You had 45 people so did they have more than one caricature artist? I would like to do this too  did everyone get one and how long did the artist take?

we had a caricature artist and a magician, and both were fantastic, but the caricature artist had us rolling around, he was fabulous. He spent roughly 15 minutes with each person. We fed him bits of info on each particular person and off his pencil went...they were hilarious, and our guests LOVED it. They were delighted to take them home.
