Reception Lighting

This is sort of a strange question, but does anyone know what options there are for lighting a ballroom? I'm very picky about lighting and I want to make sure the room has the soft ambiance we want. I know I've seen some pictures where the entire room looks blue/pink/etc... anyone know how much that costs? My fiance and I snuck into a ballroom and played with the lighting panel when we were at GF in May, but the "wedding" setting still seemed too bright to me.

We just had our PS last week, and I want to say uplighting is little over $1000? You can pick your color and this will create that "glow" that you are going for. If you want to pinspot certain tables, it is $125 per light.

We are using uplighting for our reception in the GF ballroom, and are using an outside vendor and are paying 1/3 of what disney is asking. I've got some pictures of our inspiration in my PJ. Wow, $1000 seems like a steal compared to the 9k we were quoted for the wall draping (needless to say, we cut that instantly-- think of all the other things you could do with $9k!)

Sarah, are you being charged any fees for the outside vendor? And how does that work really-- Does he just set up while Disney is prepping the rest of the room?

Check out my PJ to see purple lighting...if you're interested in that, we had the white pin spotting on the 12 tables, our sweetheart table, and the cake table. That was $125 each, or $1500 (the cake and sweetheart tables were included in the DJ package). Then we had the Custom Uplighting Package of 8 LED Lavendar Color Blasts which was $1110.

I went through Disney. I didn't want the hassle of dealing with outside vendors. Also, with the DJ package, we got pin spotlighting on the cake table and sweetheart table, as well as 3 GOBOS (the pictures on the wall/floor) so I chose the castle and 2 fireworks. I also had an additional GOBO (Cinderella's carriage) on the dance floor which was $125

That is GREAT news! I was thinking the castel and fireworks were going to be a LOT more and not included You made our day!
