Justw ondering for those that have only had a small number of guests (around 10-15) what you did in regards to your reception, espcially looking for answers from Escape brides. And if you don't mind me asking the costs :)

I was an Escape bride! LOL...that still makes me laugh, using that term/word...We had 18 guests (total of 20 peep including us) and had our dinner reception at Jiko. We booked 1/2 of the Wine Room so we were set apart from the main dining area in a private room.
The food and beverage minimum was $2500 for half of the wine room.

I am going to be an Escape Bride. Instead of a reception I am going to have a dessert party and hoping for the GF outside at Sago Cay (I think I am spelling that right). The minimum we have to spend is $500. If we want to hear the music while we watch the fireworks it is another $500. I think we will spend closer to $800 on food fro 11-20 guests (with have of them being under 10). On the fence about the music.

I want Mickey and Minnie (around $1,200) but I am not sure if they do dessert parties. If not I wil have them come to the cake cutting right after the wedding.

Also/or I am thinking about a Caricature Artist for $585. I am not sure how long that is for. If it is 1/2 hour I am wondering how many drawings they can do. You can also have a balloon artist for $700 I am not doing any other favors, probably not sending out any invitations, no bridesmaids or their flowers etc so I want to do something for entertainment. Plus we may have a lot of kids and I think they would like the balloon creations.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I asked my WC about this and she said they will not do it because it would be out in the open and it would be hard to keep other guests away. I know they do let them go to the cake cutting after the wedding though.

Good luck with your planning! :goodvibes

Hey, it used to be called an "Intimate" wedding, and then you'd see all these funny threads about "I have an Intimate question"... :rotfl:

The $585 is for three hours, and there's a three-hour minimum. The artist can draw 8–10 black-and-white caricatures per hour or 4 in color.

lurkyloo-thanks for the info on the caricature artist. Considering I am having a small wedding we could probably get everyone drawn. Granted I am not having anything that lasts for 3 hours but I am sure they won't mind leaving early if I pay full price.

We just had our reception at the St. James Room at the boardwalk convention center 2 days ago. I have to say it was sooo amazing! Everything was beautiful and bc it was a Thurs. at 12:30 there was a very low minimum. Everyone raved about the food- and decor!

I can post pictures as soon as I get them.

Thanks for the replys.

At the moment i had in mind a restuarant and i'd like a private room just so its more, well private haha and i wouldn't want it too early either as i dont want it to be finished by like 7-8pm.
I was looking at Bluezoo at the Dolphin as they have a private room which looks lovely and the minimums are not as much as Disney's but will see, i have plenty of time to think about it im just an over obssesive planner :rotfl:

Congratulations on your wedding, sounds lovely, i hope it was all perfect for you . Love to see pictures when you get them :)

I had my dinner at bluezoo. The maximum for one section of the private room is 15 people and the minimum is $1200.

I read your TR and your wedding was beautiful :lovestruc

I'm just unsure about the Bluezoo because of the menu, we are not really seafood eaters.
I have been looking at Napa Room at California grill and it seems wonderful espcially with the views of MK. I know the minimum before 4 or 5pm is only about $1000 but after 5pm is $3000 but it seems so perfect for an evening reception espcially be able to watch the fireworks from there

We are having a private reception at the GF in the Key West Room. The F&B min is $500 (well it is for the day/season i'm having).
