Hey everyone. We will be having between 20 and 25 guests at our wedding next year and we are just wondering about where to hold our reception. We are a bit conscious about feeling 'lost' in a big room and are currently debating between a restaurant or a room like Whitehall. Any opinions on what would be good for this amount of guests? What experiences have you all had? Or has anyone had a really unique location for a reception? Got to wait till September for our site visit and am trying to get a head start! :) Thanks again in advance for you help! x :thumbsup2

If you are doing a Wishes wedding & looking for a unique reception, the possibilities are endless!! Most do have F&B minimums, so some might not coordinate with your wedding size. But it's worth a shot to ask about reception sites within the parks. I've seen photos on here of wedding receptions at DHS (IN the Great Movie Ride for instance!), there are lovely restaurants with private dining rooms at Epcot. I just recently saw a TR on here with a lovely dinner reception at one of the private Illuminations viewing spots & they watched Illuminations after dinner. Many in-park attractions also have VIP rooms that can work as a reception site (I think I read that Everest & Dinosaur have ones, but I believe these VIP rooms are common at many park attractions.

I guess just don't be afraid to ask about these things!!!

Hey! Thanks for the reply. Would love something really unique for the guests. I guess asking is going to be the best. I really wish we could do something in the MK but I've heard that you can't have private events in there so that is obviously extremely unlikely! Nevermind! I'm sure we'll find the perfect place eventually, just wanted to get a few opinions from you guys, you are all so helpful. :goodvibes Our wedding won't be until October next year, but it's all I can think about! Can't wait!!!! :)

Is the ceremony in the WP?

Whitehall is nice because it's a blank canvas and you could do anything with the space and have dancing. What time of day do you want your reception to be? The Napa Room is a nice small space you can watch Wishes from there.

The parks are always fun - it just depends on what YOU like. You could do the theater of the stars with a beauty and the beast theme at the studios or something outside in the tower of terror courtyard. If you do anything in the parks you can pay an additional I think like $10 pp per ride and get all of your guests to the front of the line. If you were doing something at epcot I would sugggest soarin', or the newish toy story ride at the studios or the safari at animal kingdom. I think that would be a nice surprsie for guests. Do you have a favorite ride? I personally think that a lot of the typical spaces like the living seas salon (although fun) are too big for 25.

Whats your favorite thing about Disney? Ask yourself that and your reception will start to come together.

Hi. I think it will more than likely be the WP for us, so Whitehall would prob be a good choice as it's near by, but I've seen some pics of the Napa Room and I love the fact that you can see the MK. I think they will be on my list to view at our site visit.

My favourite thing about Disney is MK. Wish we could do something there but i think i'm gonna have to let that dream go being as you can't hold private events in there. My other favourite thing about Disney is Wishes, so including fireworks is a must for me! :goodvibes

Well you have 2 options

1) morning wedding, morning reception somewhere, wishes dessert party or fireworks cruise

2) afternoon wedding and wishes reception.

Do you specifically want dancing? or just a meal? Do you have any sort of a theme in mind?

You could rent out just the fireplace room of V&As for 9 courses - it would be amazing and need no decor - but there def wouldn't be any dancing.

I have seen wishes from pretty much everywhere you can view it from - the water is my favorite but the napa room is impressive too. Just keep in mind that if you aren't at the Poly or on the water the fireworks won't be right behind the castle they will be either to the right or the left of the castle depending on the angle. It was the only thing I didn't like about the napa room.
