...and I loved it!

I'm not sure why I'm surprised, I guess I wasn't expecting Disneyland Paris to be as good as it is. I've always gone to WDW on holiday, and worked there for a summer, but decided to head to DLRP for our 'Disney Fix'.

Getting off the Eurostar and being right at the parks/village is such a good feeling! It was expensive, but I think that's because I'm used to converting things back from dollars, and Euros doesn't have the same effect

I'm already looking into a trip for next year with my family. I definitely wouldn't stay at the Santa Fe again, we had a stroll around the lake and I love the look of the Sequoia Lodge so I'm thinking of booking a trip to stay there next time. The dream would be Disneyland Resort...that would be pure magic!

Did anyone else feel surprised, or were my expectations too low?! It is Disney after all!

Hello and welcome to Dis :goodvibes

Glad you enjoyed it. I've only ever been to DLP so have nothing to compare it to. I'm blown away by it every time we go, I always find something new.

Yaayyy another convert :lmao:

I'm really glad to hear a good review about DLRP. My family is heading there in 37 days. We are a WDW family and I was afraid of being disappointed. However, you said you wouldn't stay a Santa Fe again, that is where we will be staying, and I wondered if there was a reason why?

Hi Charlotte :welcome: to the Disneyland Paris Trip Planning & Community Board.

Hoping you'll have lots of fun on here    please join in with any thread or if you have any questions please start a new one of your own.

If you haven't had a look yet, the DLP DISboard posting rules are here and the DIS posting guidelines can be found here. :)

Did anyone else feel surprised
Me!!

I have to admit that I originally refused to set one foot in Euro Disney :rotfl2: I think I had read too many negative write-ups in the media and thought it could never live up to WDW. I wandered over to this section of the DIS in order to help a computer-illiterate friend with some planning for her DLP trip and slowly found myself getting persuaded ..... to the degree that we booked a second trip to DLP before we'd even taken our first!! I was still really worried that it wouldn't live up to WDW until we took our first walk through Fantasia Gardens and it was  at first sight.

Glad you loved it too!! :goodvibes

Glad to hear it-we are traveling from Virginia and am hoping for a great trip-we have done WDW, DL in CA, and 6 Disney cruises so we know what to expect. Here's hoping you plan several more trips to fully experience "the magic". Glad you had fun!

We are going to DLRP for first time in less than 2 weeks staying at Hotel New York, having been to Florida 12 times.
I never thought we would consider Disneyland Paris too, it's mainly to do with the travelling to the US with our autistic son, having taken him so many times we just feel it's too demanding for us now.

We are going with an open mind, it's natural to compare to WDW but I am sure there are many differences, to be honest one big advantage is having so much within easy reach, taking the Eurostar means no jet lag either.

If we like it there is a possibility we will go back next year and perhaps have a week by the beach in Spain too.

To be honest we are not disney fanatics, we just like Florida in general, having said that DLRP looks to have so much going for it and the close proximity of everything means it has to be worth a try.

This is good to hear. I've been doing my trip research at Trip Advisor and I've been a little worried after reading all of negative trip reports. I'm just like klymac, been to WDW and DL (too many times to count) and done six Disney Cruises. We're stationed over here for three years, need to use our DVC points, and I want to see Disneyland Paris. I hope we have a good visit.
