Ok, here is my story. The week between Christmas and New Year's 2007 I went to a place to get my eyes checked, new glasses and new contacts. Starting in January I was loosing anywhere from 1-4 lbs. a week. In mid-March my eyes started giving me trouble. I was always rubbing them. It got to the point that I could see better without my contacts.
April 19 I finally got my eyes checked at another place. The first place didn't even seem concerned that I was having problems reading. I had gone to eye place #2 two and a half years ago and was extremely impressed with the service there. I went to the first eyeplace because I had a coupon.
The lady at place #2 said that said that my eyes weren't unhealthy nor were the healthy. She recommeded that I get bloodwork done. April 30 I had a Dr. appointment. Well, last Monday or Tuesday the Dr. office called to say that I had Type 2 diabetes and where did I want the script called into. No help in education or diet. He doesn't even have me testing my blood at home.
I know not to drink soda or to eat candy or alot of carbs. I was thinking that I should make an appointment with the on grocery chain here that has a nutritionist and see if she can help me.
Is there anyone out there who can guide me a little. The diabetes website is too much of a help.
