DH and I returned from our long weekend at WDW on Monday night. We had a great time, and enjoyed all of our meals. We don't consume any alcohol, and aren't gourmets. So for those of you that are interested, here's where we ate, and what we thought of it:
Thursday, November 14 - A late supper at ASMu food court. We checked in and then got chili-cheesburgers and fries to take back to the room (we drank water that we brought). The hamburgers were good. Total: 11.75
Friday, November 15 - We checked out of ASMu and into the YC. We skipped breakfast and headed to MK.
Lunch : We had a 12:00 PS at the Plaza Restaurant, and waited on about 5 minutes for a table. We had never been here before. It is a charming little restaurant. We split a club sandwich (which was a huge) with German potato salad. We had water to drink. For dessert, we split a Plaza Special - butter pecan ice cream with hot fudge, caramel, whipped cream, nuts and a cherry. We really enjoyed our meal, and were stuffed. Total : $19.00
Dinner: 8:30 PS at Cape May. We waited less than 10 minutes. We loved this place! We enjoyed everything we tried. I didn't try the mussels and clams, but DH did, and he loved them. The boiled shrimp were surprisingly good. I really liked the salmon and flank steak. The dessert selection was wonderful...those Oreo things were our favorite. We were not charged extra for our drinks. Total : 58.86
Saturday, November, 16 - This was our bad weather day...rain, rain, rain. Again, we skipped breakfast.
Lunch: We had a 1:00 PS, but changed it to earlier, and only waited about 5 minutes. Our server was friendly, but slow. This was our first time here, too. We loved it - both the food and the atmosphere. For an appetizer we had the chicken quesadillas with cilantro sour cream and mango salsa. I didn't try the salsa, but enjoyed the quesadillas with sour cream. For our main courses, I chose the barbeque chicken caesar salad and DH had the cobb salad. DH loved his cobb salad, but wished it had a little less bleu cheese. The barbeque chicken caesar was delicious! We had tea and Diet Coke to drink. We decided we had to try the grapefruit cake for dessert. This was our only disappointment foodwise on the whole trip. We really didn't care for this cake. Total: $52.04
Dinner: We went to Beaches and Cream at about 7:15 and waited less than 10 minutes for a table. We used one connections voucher. We split a double cheeseburger with fries, a chocolate malt (which they brought out in two glasses, each topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings), and a Milky Way sundae (or whatever they called it). Without the voucher the total would have been about $27.
Sunday, November 17 -
Breakfast : We had an 8:00 PS at Boma. We arrived about 15 minutes early, and were seated immediately. Just like last time, we really enjoyed our meal. DH tried some different things - I stuck with the "normal" stuff. We used two connections breakfast vouchers here.
Lunch: We were at AK and went to Flame-Tree Barbeque. We got two pork sandwiches (a la carte), an order of cheese fries, and a Diet Coke. We thought the food was good. Total : $17.98
Dinner: We had planned to eat at Rose and Crown and see Illuminations, but were just too tired to wait. We cancelled R & C before leaving Epcot, and made another PS for Cape May. So, for the second time in the weekend, we ate ate Cape May (can you tell we liked it
). We waited about 10 minutes for a table. We requested a booth, and got one. Again, the food and service were great (and no extra charge for drinks). Total : $58.86
Monday, November -
Breakfast: We walked over to the Boardwalk Bakery. We got a cinnamon yummy, a chocolate croissant, and a chocolate donut. We drank water we brought. Everything was good. Total : $7.00
Lunch : We were shopping at DD and went to House of Blues about 12:00. We were shown immediately to our table. DH had the Elwood and I had the shrimp poboy. We drank tea and Diet Coke. The food was good, but the service left something to be desired. Total : $37.22
Dinner: A snack on the airplane on the way home.
We were glad we went to the restaurants we did. All were good choices for us. The only food we wished we hadn't ordered was the grapefruit cake at the BD. I'll be happy to answer questions if I can. Sorry this is so long...
