Recent Stays at Paradise Pier?

Now after doing more digging, I'm paranoid about slow elevators at PPH messing up early entry. That's our main reason for staying on property.

Will your kids want a pool break? The DLH pool is awesome and it would be worth it for the pool if you’re going to use it. You can use the DLH pool when staying at PP (because the pool is closed), but going back and forth between PP and DLH to use the pool is a huge time suck.

During our last two trips (2019 and 2022), we were all too tired to swim, so pool is not a priority at all. At this point, we're leaning toward booking PPH and just taking our chances with the elevators. I'll have to get my family up early.

I was worried about this too. We stayed at Paradise Pier in October and I think only once during our 4 days there I thought...this elevator will never come. We stayed on the 6th floor and never had issues with the elevator messing up our EE time. We were about 10-15 people back in line every morning. When it is busy, there is someone in the lobby asking what floor and working the elevators themselves. The elevators were a non-issue for us!
How early were you all at the elevators?

I just went and looked at my pictures from our first day and I have a mirror selfie at 6:20 am 😂. I’m pretty sure that’s about when we left because my next selfie is in line at security at 6:36 am. We were about 15 people back in line from security. My last selfie is outside the park at 7:13 am in line at the entrance. I hope my selfie times help! 😂

Since the front entrance is not open does it add any extra time to the walk? Also, how busy has the new entrance been for early entry? When leaving Disneyland is it faster to cut through the Grand Californian?

The other thing that I'm sure you know but I will just reiterate here: the DLH is under a lot of construction also. This contributes to views that may not be great, noise, etc. So while the construction at PPH is more intense, you will not get away from all of the construction by staying at the DLH. Sounds like PPH is going to be a great choice for you this trip!

It actually cuts down on the walk since you will be going to the DTD/Disneyland Hotel security entrance. You just go out the back, make a right and walk to security. The walk to the DCA back entrance will be a little longer, but only by a minute or 2. Just have to walk along the side of the hotel to the crosswalk.
