Recent Polynesian check-in????s

Someone recently said on one of these boards that the Polynesian was booked at about 101% and if you checked in later than 4 p.m., you could be sent to a different resort. Have any of you had recent experience in this area? We'll be checking in around 4ish in mid-August and don't want to have a problem. Besides, where could they send you??

If I remember that post correctly, they were checking in on 7/4 which is a super busy day at the Polynesian because of the fireworks. In mid August, I wouldn't worry.

If they are overbooked, I imagine you would be offered a choice of rooms wherever WDW had availability. But again, I wouldn't worry.

That's what I was hoping the situation was. I remembered it was the 4th also. And since no one seems to have the same issues here, I'm assuming that it was just a quirk, based on the date. Thanks.

We checked in on JUly 1st at 9:30am. and there was no problem, in fact the room was ready at that time, in fact we actually were able to choose which building and floor. We also had friends check in that day around noon and same situation.

We were there from June 30th to July 9th. No problems at all checking in (around 10:30 AM). There were at leat five CM's at the front desk when we got there. The only busy day was July 4th. I was in and out of the lobby and never really say a long line for people checking in the entire time we were there. I only wish I could checkin again right now! I really miss the Poly big time.

the walt disney world resorts were so booked on the 4th that they had to walk some people over to the Grand Cypress.

We checked in after midnight on the 1st or was it the 2nd no problem.
