Just returned from christmas trip to disney.....

1) We where there in april and left lights and tiny tree in our owners locker....the lights on the balconies where really cool throughout the resort.

2) Although we dont own at OKW...I grow to love it more and more over time. It is the "homiest" resort by far, the quietest by far, and the most family friendly.

3) Not nearly as crowded as I expected this year....this was the first time i truly noticed how bad the economy was, (well despite the crazy food prices, and recent gas prices, and property taxes, and.....oh well forget it)

4) The small NYE party OKW had was really cool for both parents and kids....they has a DJ with radio disney favorites, and a giant screen for the kids to play wii games.

5) The weather this year was unbelievable. it was a pool day pretty much every day through the new year.....nothing like spending part of christmas day soaking in the sun at the pool.

6) Everyone should experience the candlelight processional at least once ON christmas night...it was spectacular.

7) The candlelight processional dinner package is a complete rip-off however...dinner for 2 adults and 2 children was $170.00 after all was said and done at rose and crown.

8) if you are looking for affordable golf during this season, Remington CC is a great deal...greens fee was $70 included breakfast, hot dog at the turn, and lunch afterwards, along with any soft drink you wanted.

9) The osbourne family lights was a great way to spend christmas eve!!!

10) I think my wife is now convinced that we should make christmas an annual trip....which makes me VERY happy!!!!!

Okay, so I have been trying to talk my family into a Christmas trip for 12 years! I've never gotten them to go for it other than early December and NYE a couple of times. I want to be there Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!!! Looks like I'm going to have to have them read this post!

There is no better time of the year to go to WDW. We have been making the annual Christmas pilgramage for 13 years, never during Christmas week, however. (just too many points!). The kids are getting older (not the parents, though) and at 21 and 14, we probably don't have a lot of family Christmas trips left. Hopefully, as long as Mom and Dad pay, the kids will be interested !!!

Just returned from at week (12/27--1/4) at OKW and must say the place looks amazingly new. The exteriors are very clean (they were power spraying our building one morning), the landscaping is well maintained, some of the signage has been replaced with new, and the interiors are generally holding up quite well (some grout issues in the bathrooms, but big deal). Never have had a bad trip to OKW.

:goodvibes It sounds like you had a wonderful stay, and that's great!

We returned from OKW on 12/20 also don't want to use the extra points for Christmas week. It was our first DVC experience and went there over our home resort @ SS on the advice of a coworker. We had a great time we had a 2bdr and a studio for a mini family reunion. We are going to AKV in May just to stay with the animals once but will probably go back to OKW for most of our vacations. Largest rooms and best point value. Quiet resort and friendly staff. Although we did request early check in since we were coming from the Autotrain but that didn't happen and we had early dinner ressies. We will be making later timed ressies in the future just in case this happens again.

Keep up the pressure....it was wonderful!!!!.....Just being able to arrive on christmas eve and put your lights out on the balcony, and put up your tiny tree is just great!!....we spent christmas night at osbourne lights. people where singing and dancing to the music, and the lights where great.

but christmas night at the candlelight processional was something to behold...we had edward james olmos this year, he was fantastic!!!
