Recent occurrence at Ramada Main Gate

Exactly. Your belongings are not any safer at a 5 star resort than they are at a Motel 6. The only difference in the type of hotel/motel is how they handle what happens after the fact. A good establishment will try to resolve the issue and make it right, and also try (usually unsuccessfully) to address the problems with staff.

Agreed!!! I would also think a 5 star resort might be a little better employer that one might not want to risk losing their job from as quickly if they were found to be taking things. Maybe not, but I bet there are statistics out there somewhere that might be interesting to look at. With all that being said, add us to the list for using the safe for all our valuables that we bring with us. Sad world we live in isn't it.

You could steal everything I bring with me on a trip to Disneyland, and it still wouldn't be as expensive as staying on site! :lmao:

I LOVE your sense of humor - and agree with your conclusion.

BTW, I was going to stay on site this next trip with the family so we could get the extra early hour at DCA, then I priced it... No Thanks. I would probably only stay there if it was just me and the wife... but then I wouldn't care about the extra hour.

In terms of security, if you can't keep it on your person - keep it in your car. At least you are the only one with a key to your car.

I do not doubt op's story at all , but we have left ipads and booze in our rooms at the Ramada maingate at the park without issue. I have also had problems with the rooms being dirty. A couple weeks ago there was something horrific on the sheets and the bed had been made over though it had obviously been slept in by the previous guests. We were moved from the regular room to a new suite by the night manager who was apologetic. The housekeepers are not keeping the new rooms clean either. The carpet was extremely stained. There was orange mold in the shower. The fridge had not been wiped out. We just switched our reservation there next week to bwppi. I gave them two tries but it is too dirty for us.
