Recent Covid?

Everyone in your party has to have an all-clear.
I believe it has been correct now, and IIRC you just sailed last week. The early-August cruises did have a problem with the SafePassage site giving an "All Clear" message when in fact the kids' test results were missing. This was corrected by the time you cruised but the families who were impacted definitely had wrong "All Clear" notifications.

I can confirm that they fixed it then. It was all very clear. In regards to the OPs question there is a place to download recent positive Covid tests. Who collaborates to make the final call should you still test positive I don’t know. It’s a shame they don’t allow a positive antibody test in their criteria.

We have recently recovered from COVID. It is possible to test positive for COVID weeks after having recovered. we are booked in October also. I called DCL and specifically asked what if we test positive at port. The policy is as stated: a positive test means you can’t board. No exceptions. The only good thing is if you test positive and you have insurance the cruise is refunded.

Same boat here. Recently recovered (and yes, we were fully vaccinated) and hope the positive test doesn't "stick around" for many weeks...

So, if you test positive at the terminal and do not have insurance, you are out the $$ paid for the cruise? No credit toward another cruise?

No, if you test positive at the terminal DCL will offer a full refund. You may be out any other expenses -- such as changes to airfare, hotel, car rental, meals, etc. which insurance might cover for you.

Based on an experience from someone in our cruise group that was supposed to sail this week, it sounds like you should upload proof of recent covid.

This would be great news! Do you have any other info on their experience? They tested positive at the port after recently having covid? Or you said “supposed” to sail. Meaning they still were unable to sail. Which wouldn’t be great news.

My musings, or as I see things… Bottom line, if testing is the stated criterion for boarding a ship, then ”recovery” is irrelevant in this regard.

It is great for the health of that individual.

Anyone of us could have had COVID and been unaware - if asymptomatic. Or even have it on boarding day. We could walk into pre-boarding testing at the port and be turned away, completely dumbfounded.

To be recovered does not have a clear set of standards yet (as far as I can find) other than two negative test results achieved at least 24 hours apart. At this point, we only have testing to show an undetectable (acceptable?) level of virus. If you can be asymptomatic and have COVID, how can the cessation of symptoms be considered as eligibility for a doctor to write a letter attesting that you are recovered? Symptom-free, yes. And thankfully.

I hope the OP‘s child is truly recovered - in the actual physical state of the body. But as far as cruising goes, hope that the test comes back negative ahead of time - or at least have plans on what to do if it doesn’t.

Here’s hoping for the best all around.

I wasn't there as our cruise is this coming week. But they did not have proof of recovery of their under 12 child, and they were told it would have made a difference. This is different than what has been reported (and I have repeated at least once). I would recommend anyone who has recovered check into this with Inspire and Disney prior to getting to the port in case there is anything you could provide if a test is positive to be able to board the cruise.

Since I wasn't there, I would not want to try to provide any more detail, or "make up" policy without seeing it written on the DCL or Inspire web site.

See, this is frustrating but also might be good news? DCL and Inspire have told me a positive at port is a positive. No boarding. This is obviously not what is happening. Not sure who else to call though to get a real answer.

I know this thread is over a month old, but I thought I would add this here since I couldn't find anyone's experience with applying for 90 day recovered from COVID.
Backstory: My 8-year-old tested positive for COVID about 45 days before our cruise. We sail on Wednesday next week. We went the route of applying for 90 day recovered, and while it took almost 3 days for them to process, she is now listed as "clear" for her pre-sail screening. I submitted her positive PCR test and got a letter from her pediatrician that said she was cleared for travel. Per Safe Passage website, she will not need a pre-sail PCR test and is not required to participate in COVID-19 testing on the day of Embarkation (or Disembarkation). I am still extremely nervous about how it will all play out next week and hope to provide an update when I can.

I am set to sail in November but tested positive in early October. I am still testing positive and have concerns that may not change in time for my cruise. I hope everything goes well with your daughter and I look forward to hearing about the outcome.

As an FYI, my DD and I did not have to test at the Port since we had uploaded the required test results and recovery letters from our physician to the portal. My wife, who somehow never got it, had to test though, so we still had to wait about 45 minutes until her results came in until we could board. Also, to note, they were still boarding people on the Magic at 5pm this past Thursday, so it is taking awhile... (and that's with a ship only a bit above half-full)...

Good cruise though (except for our terrible Palo server. It was 45 minutes until we got bread. Our brunch was 3 hours long. And she charged us even though we were Platinum, which took a couple of days to get rectified...). Lots of new staff...

So we are at the test site and it went smoothly for her! The first person said we would need to show the physical doctor note, but the tester didn’t need to see it. Said she was clear. Now just to wait on the rest of our results.

… So, did you sail? And have a good time?

(I’m just catching up on my reading).

Yes! We did sail! The rest of our group was negative (almost 40 minute wait for our results and one of the first groups tested for the day). We thoroughly enjoyed our return to the seas :)
So you as a vaccinated adult were still testing positive a few weeks after you got it. But you were still allowed to sail with proper documentation? Is that right?
Glad you had a good trip!

No, the vaccinated adults never got COVID and never tested positive. It was only my 8-year-old that got COVID a month and a half before our sailing. We never tested her again after her initial positive PCR test. She did not have to submit the negative PCR 3 days-24 hours before sailing like others under 12. She also did not have to have a rapid test at the port. I applied for 90 day recovered for her. I had to submit her original positive PCR, plus a note from her pediatrician that said she was recovered and cleared to travel. So yes she was allowed to sail with proper documentation.

Last post to this thread was back in November so any current updates on people who have had Covid and recovered?.....is DCL still accepting positive PCR test and a DR note as recovered and no test at the port? Our cruise is in January and getting nervous with all this spread lately. Don't think I have Covid but you can't even get any tests done where I am.
