we are sailing concierge in a few weeks and i am just wondering what you can tell me about any recent sailings - basically anything you can think of before we go. We have only sailed concierge on the Dream, so the Wonder will be a very different experience for us. I am not sure how the whole thing works, we are used to the concierge lounge on the Dream, so we know this will be very different. Does the staff come to you? Are there meet and greets? Anything you can think of will be helpful - I am so excited for this cruise!!! Thank you for your help!:):):)

I just got back on March 2016 from sailing concierge on the wonder.

It will be difficult to sail non concierge again.

There is no lounge but there were get togethers on 3 or 4 of the days. There is also free coffee in Cove Cafe that I took advantage of daily (ok more than once daily)

The staff comes to you everyday and if you call guest services, you call gets routed to your concierge host.

We had a Minnie meet and greet which I forgot my camera for :(

YES, it will!! We are addicted now too, so there is no hope for us LOL!
Thank you for the info, I am also planning on visiting the Cove as many times as I can. I am excited to see what it is like without the concierge lounge and the more personaizedl service! We haven't made it to a character meet and greet yet, but this may be the trip we finally do. We don't have kids so we tend to skip character things....but it would be fun to get a picture with Minnie, or whomever, for the scrapbook...
I hope you had a great cruise and thank you so much for your help!

You will have two cocktail hours (they close off half of the outlook bar area for these) on the days that you don't have other meet and greets. On the meet and greet days, there is just one cocktail hour. We took advantage of this and always stopped by to have a drink, visit with the hosts and then get another drink on our way out to take with us to dinner. The meet and greets are worth attending because they have some yummy hot snacks, drinks and one day will have the character.

The hosts were always just a phone call away if we needed anything. They took care of our onboard bookings for us, etc. The only time I went to guest services was to add the concierge tip because I didn't want the concierge host to have to process their own tip ;)

The daily treats are delivered to your room by room service (I think) but the hosts will also stop by once a day to see if you need anything. We kept missing them but we saw them at the nightly cocktail hours and we could let them know then if we needed something (rarely happened though).

Pretty much every day we would stop by the pizza place and grab a pretzel (cinnamon and cream cheese - yummy) and then go to the Cove Café to get a free cappuccino.
While the coffee drinks are free for concierge guests, I still had the server print me up a zero receipt and I would add a tip for them. I have no idea if they received any compensation for all the free drinks they had to make so I added a little something anyway. We did the same thing at the end of the cruise for the servers in the outlook bar who had been preparing our drinks all week.

That is a good idea and we will do the same!!
Silly question, but do you know if they have Elemis or H2O Plus products in the concierge rooms? Just asking out of curiosity, I know my mom prefers the H2O+, but I don't care either way (although i am a huge fan of the solar gel....)
Thank you for your help:thanks:

They had the Elemis products on our cruise and I did not like them either. I used my own shampoo and conditioner and our kind stateroom host brought be some of the H2O lotion :)

We were concierge on the Wonder in november and I asked our room host for the H2O products instead. That is what he gave us the whole week.

thank you, we may need to ask also:)

nice! it can't hurt to ask, right? after using both kinds, I think i would prefer the H2O+, but would use whatever they gave us. The smell of the H2O+ lets me imagine i am showering on a DCL cruise and not at home in my boring shower:yay:

I'm sad I missed out on the H2O products.

However, I loved the Elemis bath soak/liquid in the jetted tub. It doesn't foam up and it smelled lovely.

If you get Rod - he is AWESOME! He brought our kids bags of popcorn before every show. The kids loved it so much I ordered a case of the popcorn when we get home. It came a couple days ago and they were so excited to have the "cruise popcorn".

I actually like Concierge without the lounge. On the newer ships we didn't develop the relationship we do with the Concierge on the classic ship. Rod came and saw us at supper every night - just to make sure we were ok and to see if we needed anything.

Have a blast!

I did not realize the coffee drinks at Cove Cafe were included for Concierge Guests...that may seal the deal for me on an Alaskan cruise!!!

That is good to hear!! We were afraid that we wouldn't get to know them as well as we have the concierge staff on the Dream! We actually planned a cruise so that we can catch up with a concierge CM after her break ends, LOL!
I hope that we do have Rod after hearing your recommendation, he sounds great!
I can't wait for our cruise, especially as I am sitting here watching it SNOW - yuck!!!!!:sad2::headache:

When you first embark, they will guide you to a concierge reception where you will meet your concierge and they will go over things with you (your bookings, all about the concierge 'happy hours', etc). We saw our concierge every day either at dinner, or in whatever lounge we were meeting in prior to heading out to an excursion. We only actually made the concierge happy hour on pirate night, but it was perfect because just outside Outlook cafe was a perfect place to view the show and fireworks.

The concierge also had a special meet and greet mid cruise and we had a special visit from Captain Mickey so that was awesome!

Even though there were 2 concierges on the Wonder when I cruised in January (Rod and Glenn), you are assigned to one and he was the only one we really dealt with. It is very personal. Love it!
