Receiving a points transfer question...

A nice friend of mine just offered to transfer his SSR points to me. Well I was just reading about it in the 2010 planner and it sounds like since I already have a contract at SSR he can't transfer them to me? Is that right?

You are asking if SSR points can be transferred to you even if you have an SSR contract? Yes, they can. There are other considerations if they're banked etc. but there are no restrictions on what resort.

Oh ok that's great...so with my Dec 2011 use year and his Aug 2011 use year I can use all those points at 11 months for SSR for July 2012?

Yes because his Aug 2011 UY makes those points valid 8/1/2011 - 7/31/2012 (*you can bank the transferred points too if you wish) and your Dec 2011 UY points are valid 12/1/2011 - 11/30/2012 so a trip during July 2012 falls within the range of dates that both sets of these point are valid. And you can use both sets to book at 11 month window for SSR since his are SSR points as well as yours.

If he is transferring 2011 points into your 2011 UY, yes. And your trip falls in your Dec 2011 UY.
