We were coming in late last night so we booked a one night in a 1 bedroom at Jambo. We arrived at 9:30, got our room ready text and looked at the room number, then looked at room description...we were put in a 3 bedroom villa for the night. Unbelievable upgrade and a wonderful surprise for our 3 boys, one of which had a birthday last Sunday, and another's whose birthday was yesterday. Now the only problem is that we are moving to a 2 bedroom...the change to each not having their own room, and lack of pool table is sad🤣

Yay! Congratulations!! 🎈 What an experience for you all!

Wow congrats! We had Pixie Dust also last August when we stayed at the Rivera. We were booked in a 2 bedroom for 7 nights and we were upgraded at check in to a 3 bedroom grand villa!! Too say we felt like celebrities for a week was an understatement! It was so beautiful and now my family is spoiled for life. I told my kids dont ever expect that to happen again lol!

My recommendation? Bunker down, there's no way Disney will want the negative publicity of having a family forcibly extricated from one of their rooms.

I think so many of us are getting spoiled with upgrades that never happened...well hardly ever...prior to Covid. Now, it seems that it does! We were upgraded at VGF this summer to a 2 bedroom from a 1 bedroom!

Congrats!!!

I have never experienced an upgrade, nor will I ever expect one… but with 2 people saying they were upgraded during a week-long stay at RIV from a 2-bed to a grand villa…. and knowing that I have that exact reservation (RIV 2-bed for a week) next February… well… I might start wishing on a star 😉🤩

I wonder if this is part of Disney’s plans to subtly increase point sales. A small percentage of people might go “wow, this is so much nicer than what we booked, how can we go back?” From Disney’s perspective, if the room isn’t going to be used anyways, it doesn’t cost that much more to clean a slightly larger room.

I think it is solely so they can leave rooms empty between guests as an extra precaution for cleaning and safety.

In reality, with DVC, it is normally running at near 100% so this does not happen and since we are going into the busy time, we will here about this less and less.

Yup just like all those poor people from CCV you will be outcast over to SSR and told to take it or leave it. Maybe that is just my luck though.

I will say that would be a good plan, we are lucky in that we own 550 points and will now try a 3 bedroom again...it is 715 points for the same length stay we have now. Even with borrowing limits it would work. The room was so great.

Awesome! That is so exciting!!! We also received the upgrade of a lifetime (about two years ago) when they bumped our 1 night stay in a standard studio at VGF to the Walt Disney Suite! It was absolutely incredible!

What is that?

Lots of room to spread out in the GV. Other rooms just make you want to only stay in a GV again.
