how will I know? I am not sure I am doing this right but, I checked out my pins with pinpics/dizpins. I went to the page that shows counterfeit pins and a few where it showed the difference. If my pins showed up on this page, does that mean they are fake?

Just because the pin shows up on pinpics or dizpins, does not mean your pins are fake. Some signs to look for in scrapper pins are as follows. If the mickey stamping on the back does not go all the way to the edge of the pin. If the pin trading logo is not clearly stamped, easily readable. Pits or streaks in the paint. Sometimes words are missing from the pin. As an example, the Phineas and Ferb pin has Disney in a speech bubble. The fake pin is missing the word Disney in the bubble.

Thanks for the information, I did receive a few pins that had Mickey heads stamped on the back that had some type of solid boarder around the edges so the disney heads DO NOT go all the way to the edge of the pin. I am guessing this is what you mean and that they are probably scrappers. I wonder if I should contact the seller?

Just checked the pins again, and I think they look fine. Thanks for the information though. All this info will help me when I do trade, I'll know what I am looking at :thumbsup2.

Yes, the mickey heads that don't go all the way to the edge of a pin create a border. This is an indication of a scrapper pin. One other thought I had was the weight of the pin. Scrappers can be light weight and not as thick as an official Disney pin.
