I don't have my packet in front of me, but there was a page of basic info I was to read and then call a number within 48 hours...is this required? On top of the page itself it said to call if I had any questions, but on this paper wrap thingie, it said to call within 48 hours.

There was also a seperate paper included that I could fill out if I wanted to opt out of DVD sharing my personal info with third party entities. Disney doens't have my SS# because I'm buying straight out and not financing, but I was thinking of opting out anyway. My question is, would I be missing out of any good "promo" type things by doing this? What did you guys do?

I was very impressed with my backpack, print and the beautiful DVC Membership guidebook.:)

I paid cash also and they still asked for my social security number. I did choose to opt out and as far as I know, I haven't missed out on anything. (Opting out is basically for not allowing Disney to share some info with other companies. They are, by law, required to ask you for permission to do this now. If you don't opt out, they can share info. Just like with credit card companies now.)

hth :)

Oh, and yes call that # within 48 hours. It takes a minute. They just ask you if you have questions, etc. Very easy!

welcome home! :)

I don't recall them asking for mine. But, you know, I was so excited the day I made that call that they may have asked but I can't remember.:o   :D

if you lose your member number or don't know it - MS needs your social security # to find your information.

...this is really just a confirmation type of call to let them know that you received your materials. They do a quick run through with you on what procedures you need to follow in returning your signed documents, and then what you need to expect once you return your documents.

Both myself and DW were asked for our ss #'s because we are listed as co-owners.

And last but not least...WELCOME HOME!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

..........and, if you accidentally, kind of, sort of forget to call them, they will call you.:p :p :p (Guess who didn't call?)

It's just a Quality Assurance check to make sure that you don't have any questions about the procedure. :D
