Received MF Statement for BLT

We joined DVC this past May and just received in the mail our Annual Dues Statement for our BLT points. The MF charges are being prorated for 150 days, so we have to pay about 41% of the annual amount. The MF charges are broken down as follows: $2.0339 for operating budget; $0.8090 for capital reserves budget; and $0.8280 for Property Tax - Estimated.

Received my BLT MF statement today also. I joined in July and it had the same numbers as wdrl. It appears to be prorated from the opening day of BLT until the end of the year for all of us who purchased before the opening.

Yes, because dues are based on calendar year, not use year. You'll receive another dues bill (usually right after Christmas) that will be due in January, unless you are paying monthly through debit.

The BLT Dues total for all of 2009 is approximately $3.67pp. If the purchasers are paysing 41%, then they are paying about $1.50 pp prorated.

For the full year, BLT's MF would have been $3.6709 per point. On a 160-point contract, that comes out to $587.34.

It would not hurt to call MS and ask them about your MF for 2009. I also have a February UY and the due date on my statement was 9/15/2009. Good Luck! BTW - I like your signature line photo!

It's odd nothing is online at all. I'd hope our due date is later considering neither my husband NOR my accounts show any dues online yet and nothing in the regular mail yet either. Too late to call today; I am going to do my best to call tomorrow at work. I've read there's other Feb due people without any charges yet. If I wasn't on Dis I'd not even know there were dues coming out yet being that I am brand new.

It sounds like some members have a Sept 15th due date, and others an Oct 15th due date. If you are worried, just give member accounting a call and they can give you all the info you need.

I have a June UY and did not receive anything either. When I called, MA said that mine are not due until Oct 15th and that I will receive a bill around the 15th of September.

No one seems to know why the different due dates.

I paid online with a credit card the beginning of February. The payment also shows online with a balance due of 0.00.

My concern now is that the resort opened a month early and many people have not even received a bill yet. Will I owe more??? And why were we billed right after our purchase if they were not due until now?

My assumption would be that you were billed at the beginning of the year because you owned the points when the 2009 MF's bills went out in December 2008. Even though you were paying a pro-rated amount, you had the points at the time the bills were generated.

We were told by our Guide and by QA that BLT dues would be prorated from the opening to the end of the year, and that we would be billed in September. In our case, that is exactly what has happened. I also wonder if other members with June UY that bought in May or later are now being billed for 8/4/2009 to EOY?

When I bought (April and June), the August 4th date was already known. Matter of fact, that is the occupancy date on my paperwork. I don't know why I am paying only 4 months worth of dues.

Of course, I am basing all of this on what member accounting told me when I called (two different times). I have not yet gotten my bill so we will see when it comes, I am assuming in the next few weeks.

Nothing is showing up on the website yet either. I will be sure to post back as soon as I get the bill!
