Received an offer that wasn't intended for us?

I'm not sure this is being posted in the correct place, but thought this would be a good place to start. We received in the mail, addressed to us with our family's name, a "Move Ahead" offer to stay, play and dine for a relatively reasonable price per person, for a November vacation from Disney Destinations. I called the 407 # listed on mailing and after reading and repeating the offer's PIN to the representative on the phone, he indicated that the PIN I used is not linked to us, but another family. After refusing to get off the phone with him until I received a better explanation, he said that I needed to fax what I received to his supervisor. I faxed it over this morning and am still waiting for a response. I was just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone and if there was ever a resolution?:confused3

Thank you!

Did you ever go to WDW with a family member with the same last name? The offer is probably in his/her name and, unfortunately, no you can't use it.

I get offers for my brother ALL the time. I can't use the offer as it's for my brother only even though it's delivered to my email address.

No - but that's a great point. I did ask if the other family's name was my mother's name since I often bring her to WDW with us but he said it wasn't under her name. It was mailed to me under my name at my address. The rep I spoke to said it the offer had an entirely different family's name on it - which is interesting since our name is printed on the offer in several places!

I don't really know how they can deny you the offer if the mailer has your name on it. It will be interesting to see how Disney handles that. Sounds like an internal problem to me. Good luck!:thumbsup2

Hmmmm, foul up in printing. Yes, I would imagine that Disney will have to honor the deal. Keep calling and/or asking for managers. I wonder if another family has your pin code number on a mailer with their name/address? Very strange.

I will tell you that I received an email offer with our name, well DH, all over it too. Every time I tried to see what the price would be, it kept telling me the name was wrong. I never called because it wasn't for our dates, and I didn't think I could make those dates work (too many vacations days for DH). However, had the offer been good enough, I might have made those dates work somehow!

And I tried his name, my maiden name, my name maiden name and married name in every combination, I tried all our first names as last names, etc. Never taken a trip with a guest outside our last name.

I agree. Keep talking up the food chain until you get someone to honor it.

Kathy,

Have you tried clicking through the link in the e-mail? I have always checked my PIN offers online, and it says your name on the page right away after you click through. It might solve the "who's name is on it" mystery.

Good luck sorting it out...
