Just thought I'd pass the word that Target is recalling/no longer selling their Market Pantry Holiday Fruit Snacks.

If you still have any around the house, you may want to return them to your local store for a full refund.

Bumping this up so no one misses it. Thank you OP.

Yeah, any other info would be appreciated.

When I google, this is the only thing I can find about it.

OP, here -- I have some family connections with Target -- no specific reason was given for the recall (and there's nothing to be found on the 'net).

I did check with my local store's service desk and it was confirmed.

I'm guessing there's no imminent danger, as if that were the case, Target corporate would've issued some sort of press release at their recall section of the Target website, by now.

As for whether or not you still want the snacks (remember, the recall is only for the holiday-themed snacks sold in the seasonal section) in your pantry, I'll leave that up to you...

 Anyone know what's wrong with them? I gave them out in goody bags for DS's holiday party.

Same here. I sent them with my dd7 to school for the treat bags they were making for her class.

OP, where did you hear about the recall? I just checked with my Target about returning the Market Pantry Holiday Fruit snacks that I bought my son and they had no idea what I was talking about.

I'd also be curious to know the source of this information. Target is not listing them as recalled on their website. And neither is the FDA, USDA, or several other agencies I checked. Google is turning up nothing, except a Yahoo post that was posted on Saturday but is now deleted because of "Community Guidelines".

Is this prehaps just an urban legend getting started? Or did Target just possibly decide to pull them off of the shells for some reason like people don't like the taste? Pulling a product and recalling it are two very different things...

Now that you mention it (and given there is no supporting information from FDA, etc.), you may be right -- perhaps my source merely pulled them from the shelves rather than a full-scale "recall".

With all that said, I wouldn't sweat things, too much -- and I'm sorry to get everyone fired-up so close to Christmas...

sometimes they pull a product because it my not list an ingredient or have an allergy warning, maybe that is the reason?

We have a box on our shelf as well. No problems here for now. Maybe they were taken off the shelves to make room for something else?
