We are now interested in the 11 Day Special Sailling on the Wonder in September of 2006. Has anyone ever booked for 2 Adults and then added their 2 kids at a later time? Or is this even possible?

I don't think we are going to have an extra $1400.00 ($350.00 per person)for a deposit on our cruise next month but we had planned to rebook another cruise so I know we have $1000. Just hoping this is a possibility. TIA

Yes, people do this all the time to save on the intial deposit which (in your case) is $700.00 less.

The biggest caveat you need to be aware of is that the ship has a capacity and if that capacity is reached before you add your children you will not be able to. It doesn't matter if your stateroom sleeps four; if the ship is at capacity it won't make a difference.

I do this all the time; adding my two children later, but I don't wait too long after the initial booking. Under normal circumstances adding children later is not usually a concern, but for certain cruises like holiday sailings which are popular you have to be careful about them selling out.

also, only the amount of people you book onboard will get the onboard 10%discount... We found that out the hard way when we added our daughter a few weeks after we booked on-board.

That has to be a recent change because I always get a quote for later comparision and ask what the rate is based on and I have been told by the CM who books onboard that the rate is based on the date of the original booking.

I'm going to try for another explanation of the post by Buddy Bear.

There is a maximum capacity in each age group. This is to allow participation for all kids in the appropriate program. So, even though there may be room in your cabin and room on the ship, a particular age group may be full. You can watch this happen on line when you ask for a quote for 2 adults and the program will give you available categories. However, there are times when you can put in the same reservation quote request for one adult and one child and be told that there is no availability.

Thus, you can wait to add a child or children until later, but you might find the appropriate age group full. Of course, at this point you can always change to another cruise date or cancel for full refund if you are more than 90 days out.
