I am sailing this Thanksgiving and I want to rebook while onboard for the 2006 10 day Christmas cruise. That will be a very popular sailing. Should I book now, then recheck the rates when I sail? Or will I be safe to just wait and book then? Surely the rates won't increase that much in 4 months?

Anyone have experience with this?

We just got quotes from Danielle on board the Magic July 9th sailing. I'm not sure how it all breaks down, but for 2 cat 6 rooms, party of 5 plus one infant, it was going to be $18,000. I'm not sure how it broke down, but hopefully it can give you some idea. Can't imagine them going up much higher! However, I do think the cabin availability will continue to decrease. Seems like a popular sailing. So as long as you don't care where your cabin is, I bet you can wait until you are on board. Lisa

Book now & compare once your on board.. Rates do go up a lot in a 4 month time frame, especially on popular cruises... That cruise may already 2x what I paid for our cruise in May '06

I agree to book now. If you can find a TA that still has group space you can get quite a deal.

Book now...then check rates.

On the August repo cruise, I checked web prices the evening they were released. I delayed calling till the next morning because I wanted to talk with a live person. The rate went up $800 overnight! I'm just glad to be on the ship.
