We just booked July 2021. We will be on board this July and plan to rebook the July 2021 cruise on board and get 10% off.

We booked a 7a with a navigators verandah and we really really want this room. There aren't anymore available.

How do I rebook and ensure that I keep my same room?

I'm not sure the process, but others have reported being able to keep the same room.

I will point out, however, booking onboard to get the 10% discount will be on the current prices, not the price you paid for the original booking (if it's changed).

I believe if you rebook on the cruise they will have to cancel your first reservation since you cannot have two staterooms on the same ship. Hopefully they will be able to keep your stateroom, as some have reported success. If not do not despair, people will cancel before penalties apply and you will most likely be able to move room.

We recently had the same question while on board. In previous years they could cancel and rebook your same room with the credit. Unless someone snagged your room in the aprox. 2 minutes it took to rebook, you were pretty much guaranteed to get the same room.

Now. They are not allowed to cancel a reservation onboard the ship. So you can either cancel it and then run to onboard booking and hope it is still there (not to mention canceling using cellular or wifi onboard is hit or miss.....) or They can book a placeholder and once you get home, you have to call DCL shoreside and they will transfer (cancel and quickly rebook) your cruise.

We ended up not trying this because with the increase in price it only saved us $200.00 usd. We just booked a place holder and ended up booking another cruise!

This is what I was thinking. We did the same thing last summer but weren't attached to our room so I don't really even remember how the process went.

Yes, I understand it will be based on current prices, not prices now. We were still able to save about $800 last time.
