I am currently booked on the May 23rd Fantasy Western Caribbean and am assuming cancellation will happen any day now. We booked through Costco and I am wanting to reschedule to a March 2021 Western Caribbean. When cancellation happens do I call Costco or DCL to book on the new cruise? What if I go ahead and do a hold on the cruise and cabin that I would like on DCL? How will this work? Just trying to gather info ahead of time. Thanks for you help!

Your TA will handle the rebooking when the time comes, if you are moving the current reservation to another one (future cruise credit). Just let them know what you want.

If you go ahead and book that cruise/room, it'll be considered a pre-existing reservation and, I believe, you can't apply the future cruise credit to a pre-existing reservation.

I could be wrong on that that, though.

You are correct you can't apply he credit towards an existing reservation

We were on the cancelled May 16th eastern cruise and booked thru Costco. We waited for Disney to cancel to receive the 125% cruise credit. When the cruise cancelled, I waited a couple days for things to settle down and then called Costco. The wait for Costco was manageable and the there was no wait when the agent called Disney.

The Costco agent didn’t know about moving my placeholder and using the 125% cruise credit, but the Disney agent did. It was a super easy process where we kept our placeholder discount and OBC, and used the 125% cruise credit to book our new cruise in May 2021.
