Rebook-Cancel. Or Cancel-Rebook?

So I managed to get an ADR at BOG for the 18th but not the ideal time for me. I plan to keep on checking to see if anything better opens up. But how does that work? If I find a better time will it let me make a second reservation on the same day or do I need to cancel my first one first?

Usually, when you make a reservation within a couple hours of one you already have, a message will pop up asking if you want to cancel the original reservation in order to make the new res. With the new system and it's many glitches, sometimes this message doesn't come up. In that case, go ahead, make the new reservation, then cancel the one you don't want.
