Be sure to do a google search for rebates for any big ticket items you buy - especially major appliances. I just purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator yesterday and a Whirlpool Duet w/pedestal washer/dryer set today. I accidentally stumbled across the manufacturers rebate for the Duet set (rebate for 1 pedestal up to $170 - I paid $159 each). I also found a $75 rebate for the refrigerator I just bought. I'm really glad I found the rebates today because the Duet pedestal rebate has to be postmarked by Dec 10th (this Saturday!).

I know there are a couple of others on this forum who are currently shopping for washing machines - so, don't forget to look for rebates. They were actually easier for me to find by doing a google search - rather than going directly to whirlpool.com.

I got a rebate for my new printer by going to the MFR website and looking. the store didn't list it and it will get me back $50 on a $143.00 printer. Just enough to order a printer cartidge and paper.

Shades, I think we might have bought the same things recently. We also bought a Whirlpool fridge and Duet pair with pedestals, and got those rebates you mentioned.

YEAH!! I hope 'we' are happy with them!! :teeth: I bought the Whirlpool refrigerator that has the "fast fill" & rotating water dispenser on the door so I can fill my tea kettle with filtered water. Which color of Duet machines did you choose? I chose the pewter ones

Yes, those are nice, but I think they were a bit more expensive at our store, so we went with white. Nobody sees them anyway where ours are at. That fridge sounds nice. Ours is the satina finish that looks like stainless, but doesn't smudge as easily and you can still put magnets on it :0) Ours has filtered water on the door, but I don't think its fast fill.

I like the satina stainless finish - but, all of my other major appliances are black and my counter top appliances are copper - so, I went with a black refrigerator. Unfortunately, the builder of our new house has the dishwasher & stove top, & double-oven already included and to upgrade on the appliances would cost more than buying the appliances myself. I did upgrade on the stove top to a ceramic from the coils - but, to upgrade on the dishwasher & ovens would have cost us another $3000-4000 to get to the stainless appliances. Crazy prices!! So, I'm just going with the flow and buying a black frig;o)

I bought my Duet set from the military exchange store online and they had the same price for all colors - so I went with the pewter just because I could;o) Otherwise, I would go with the least expensive color, too. It's not like they will be in the family room and I need pretty colors;o)
