Reassurance about Fidelity please! Final update page 8--we are in!

Since I'm also dealing with Sharon I thought I'd chime in.

I agree about calling. For one thing, as mentioned earlier, you can be sure you actually reach her by calling. For another, I really think it shows you are more serious about your desire to purchase if you take the time to call, maybe wait on hold, and then speak to her personally, than just firing off an email.

When I first started dealing with her, we had a long talk about what I wanted, resort, number of points, price I was looking to pay. She said she would put me on her active list and find me something.

Now, I'm looking for a specific UY at VGC, which are a lot more scarce than most other resorts. Yet she called me back in a couple of days with just about what I wanted; a few more points but the price was too good to pass up.

The offer was accepted and now we're waiting for ROFR.

I'm old fashioned (and old). I say call.

Email is almost dead, it has been relegated to millions of junk mail messages being sent every minute... In turn, most companies ignore their email or make them the last thing they take care of at the end of the day. If you really want to make a purchase pick up the phone and call them. Do not leave a message, stay on the line and if you get their voice mail call back over and over until you get someone. F is so busy they do not care if they lose your business. Be aggressive.

I have actually called but she never appears to be in her office when I call. I have left messages for her to return call but due to time differences maybe she feels its too late for her to return call. As for email I have now had a response aboit my offer which was declined I then made a counter offer and still to receive news, this was last Friday. Personally now I dont think I would use this company as I like to have confidence in a business Im dealing with. If they can afford to lose my business then Im sure some others would be glad of it.

I have worked with Sharon a few times. She is very friendly and gets right back to me. My only issue was the amount of time it took to close but that may have because the massive amount of resale around 3/20.

:cool1:Finally heard today that we closed. We are waiting on DVC to be put in the system. July 17 would have been 60 days.

We closed on Monday July 11 as well...now we're just waiting to get into Disney's system. I'm hoping to be in there by the end of next week so that I can do something with these 201 points that expire at the end of the month. Our offer was accepted on June 2 so we're doing not too bad on timing. Sellers took 2 weeks to submit their paperwork which slowed things down.

After it is all said and done I'd definitely consider doing another re-sale through F. Rachel was great, prompt responses, First American Title was also decent. The biggest thing, as previously stated, is to follow up with phone calls frequently.

For your points that will expire at the end of the month, if Disney do not accept to bank them (and I have a good feeling that they will do an exception and accept to bank them) or you cannot use or rent them, your last resource is to buy an RCI certificate... not the best use of points but certainly better than loosing them..

I agree about the above posts regarding Sharon and Rachel. I have done 3 transactions with them throughout the years and each time Sharon would email me back instantly. At one point she called me because of a question on a contract I signed. Just this week we made an offer on a contract via email, she emailed me back within 10 minutes, presented to the seller within 3 hours, got the acceptace and got me contracts within the next day. I have faxed the contracts in, she emailed me that she got them and we are in escrow.

I just don't get where these posts about them not being responsive is coming from. I have had nothing but better than expected service from them!

Cannot recommend them enough.

I have still not received any correspondence from Fidelity about the offer I gave. I have now went down a different road and asked Jaki if the could act as a broker for me and made an offer on a different contract, within 1 hour I got a response what a difference it makes when people do answer their emails not like the staff at Fidelity.

There is no emoticon of a smiley face just shaking its head up and down but if there was it would be here... Good for you.

Just thought I would chime in that I have purchased and closed four contracts with this "team" and have nothing but good things to say about their efforts. I'm sure anyone can have an off day but I have not experienced any negative issues with these two.

Welcome to the DIS!

It's not an off day...it's a theme.

I'm sure most of their contracts go through without any major problems, but you can bet that if there is a problem anywhere in the DVC resale marketplace, it will be with Fidelity.

Not talking about First American -- don't know anything about them -- just Fidelity.

I just contacted them this weekend about a sale I was interested in. In 2 days I've already gotten 3 emails from them. The last one said they would present my offer. I've never purchased resale before -- always direct. So this is all new to me. I hope I have a positive experience. I'm dealing with Rachel.

I worked with Sharon at Fidelity and Cammie and First American, and I am very happy with both.:)

Before I contacted Fidelity I had contacted 2 other timeshare sellers, and even though I didn't expect to pay rock bottom prices, I was led to believe that I was not going to get the price that I wanted. It was also suggested to me that some of my information obtained from the Dis on closing prices may have been inaccurate....even though there was a TON of info on what people were closing for.

Well, within 2 days of contacting Sharon, I had concluded a deal for even less than I was prepared to pay. I paid $53 pp at SSR, (buyer paying closing and seller paying MF, with March UY - all 2011 and 2012 points), which is by no means the lowest prices that SSR has been closing for lately, so I really don't think I was being unrealistic at all!

Here is my timeline:

6/3 Deal reached
6/6 Contract signed
6/6 Went to ROFR
6/20 Disney ref'd ROFR
7/11 Closing docs rec'd (delayed by Canada Post strike)
7/11 I mailed funds (via regular Canada Post mail)
7/19 First American Title rec'd my funds
7/20 Closed!

I would use Fidelity again in a heartbeat....unless I wanted to pay more for the exact same thing elsewhere!;)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Couldn't agree with you more!

I also bought my 4 contracts from Fidelity and had Cammy as a closing agent for my four contracts and she is terrific ! Very perfectionnist, answer email quickly...

I agree service at Fidelity is not the best, and often contract comes from problem situations, but I probably was lucky because all my 4 contracts went thru smoothly at a terrific price , and full loaded..

I cannot speak for the other timeshare companies because I did not use them, and I am sure many many peoples had good experience with them. I am just talking about my own experience.

I would say, if you can choose, deal with Sharon, she offer a better service than Rachel....

Well I guess I started out great, but it's not looking good. I got an email on Monday that my offer would be presented and now it's day 3 and still no update. I emailed yesterday asking for an update if the seller accepted or countered and no status report yet. The offer is no longer listed on their website either. If it's not going to happen then it wasn't meant to be, but a simple email message isn't too much to ask for. My search continues.

the only problem I had was with the owners who wanted to sell but took their sweet time returning the docs both times.

Okay--called DVC this morning and we are in the system and points are there!:cool1: I was worried that at some point something would go wrong--points wouldn't be like they said, all would fall through, etc., but everything is as it seemed. Sellers just took their sweet time getting everything in:confused3.

I didn't want to post the specifics for fear it would all fall through but here they are: 150 points SSR, $48 a point. We paid maintenance on 2011 points. There are currently 300 points available(150 banked 2010 points and all 2011 points). I feel like we got a GREAT deal!
