Reasonable Vegas Restaurant

Didn't really expect to be blasted quite so fast for a simple question. Never mind!

Well if y'all were doing dinner I know Carmine's at Ceasars does family style Italian.

Canaletto at the Venetian serves lunch and has a private dining area for larger parties. We've eaten lunch there a number of times and the food has always been good. Trevi is another restaurant that comes to mind. It's located in the Forum Shops and has a smaller menu but again, our food there has always been good.

Looking for some budget-minded advice. Dd has decided on a vegas wedding and is planning on a small ceremony at a hotel on the strip - I think she has that part finalized. Now she is looking for someplace to plan a meal for a group of 20 - 30 people. Ideally she'd like a restaurant with a private room or area to hold that many but that would allow everyone to order and pay for their own meal, probably lunch rather than dinner. They are staying at the Luxor and the main restaurants don't open until later in the day and are rather pricey. They'd like a nice meal but don't necessarily need a $50 steak.

I haven't been to vegas in nearly 25 years so I'm not being much help. Any advice/suggestions will be appreciated.

Edited to add that she would be open to a restaurant not on the strip area if it were a good choice. She is thinking maybe hiring transportation if she ends up with a place not super close.

I know this isn't the question you asked...but you are doing a destination wedding, and you are asking people to pay for their own meal? I know this is a budget board, but if you are inviting people to join you for a wedding-related meal, I would assume that I would not be paying for my own meal.

I have been to several weddings in Vegas and yes we paid for our own meal

We got married off the strip and had our reception at Maggianos in the Fashion Show Mall. We don't have a Maggianos anywhere near where we live so it was something new for everyone. We had a small wedding and were able to reserve one of their banquet rooms. It was the second smallest one, but I don't remember the name of it right now. Their rooms are beautiful and private. This was back in 2010 and their prices were VERY reasonable. Everyone's food was paid for so I don't know if they'd be willing to work out something different out. Our wedding was early so we did an early lunch. We chose the family style package which included a few choices of appetizers/salads, entrees, desserts, and non alcoholic drinks. I remember it being around $25 a person. Everything was unlimited and with all the choices everyone found something they liked. Guests were able to purchase alcohol on their own if they wanted. Cake wasn't a big deal to me so we just went with the desserts that were included. The food and the service was amazing! I still have guests that rave about it a few years later. Honestly, it was perfect. If you have any questions I'd be more than happy to answer them for you. It has been a few years so some of the details are a little fuzzy though. If you go to their website and look for that location they have prices up for all their private event packages. I don't think we paid an extra fee or anything for having the private room, just the price of food. Our wedding was in Vegas, but it wasn't the typical Vegas wedding. It was actually the first and only time we have been there...but we've been dying to go back since! If there is anything I can help with just let me know :)

I'd check with the Buffet in the Mandalay Bay. They have a link on the buffet page for parties of 12 or more. You might be able to either reserve a small private room or at least a corner of the dining room.

Easy access from the Luxor. Set price makes it easier to divide up the costs.
