reasonable offer on AK and SSR

Looking at resales at AK or SSr. What is a reasonable offer at either resort? Looking to pick up a contract of about two hundred points, preferably not stripped, with a few banked points if possible? Can I ask seller to kick in closing or pay some annual dues?

Reasonable offers on Animal Kingdom are between $75 and $80 per point and $60 and $65 per point at Saratoga Springs.

Offers to sellers can include the seller paying all or part of the closing costs, but in most cases, it is the buyer that pays closing costs. Sellers are not too receptive to pay annual dues on points that the buyer will receive and use, but again, seller paying all or part of annual dues can be included in an offer.

Thanks Robert. My hubby and I will need more points in the future. I'm just wondering if it makes sense to pick up another 200-400 now and rent them to family and friends and make use of them when we want to. The dollar is good and we get the time on the contract. Thoughts anyone.

Now I understand your previous question. Don't buy points now to rent. Renting isn't all the easy and can be complicated. Unless you have a wealth of people you know who will want to rent from you at the start. There are a few horror stories out there. And you might have to fire sale them if you don't get takers for your points. Or lose them.

Only buy the points you can actually use. And any offer to make to a seller, they can counter. So if they don't like your request for them to pay dues/fees, they can counter with asking you to pay all the dues/fees. They could ask you to pay the commission to the selling agent - that's usually about 10% of the sale price.

However, buying a contract with a bunch of banked points with the intent to rent those points is a great way to lower the per point cost of the purchase.
