Okay I have read several threads about this. I have looked at pictures, but now with the question of where is the chocolate? being raised I am a little concerned.

Will someone answer my questions?????? PLEASE.

Yes we have booked this package. However, when making my online ressies I was "charged" for the Palo's and the massages. My TA said once this hits the actual system the charge will come off. I am a little concerned about that.

We have never recieved anything stating we have purchased the REAS package. When we get out document about 2 weeks out will this be stated on the package somewhere?

What all is in the romantic basket? I have looked at pictures but that was weeks ago. And when is this delivered? Will it be in my room when we arrive? If the chocolate is nasty then was is good in the basket?

When do we get the Champagne breakfast in bed? If I remember correctly I think I have read it is will the morning after your massages. Does this include a bottle of champagne or is it a faux champagne breakfast?

The turn down service is when?

We are only on a 3 day cruise.

First of all, I envy your countdown! We are a mere 480 days from our next WDW/DCL adventure. It seems like an eternity!

My DH and I were on the 3-day last November and LOVED it! I booked the REAS package and it made our cruise very romantic! You will be glad you did it.

I don't know what to tell you about the charges that you are concerned about other than: don't worry. DCL will adjust your account to reflect the REAS package. We went to the guest services desk and got a printout of our charges on CC day. (WHO bought all of that STUFF????) Other than realizing our bar tab had gotten completely out of hand, we were fine with all that was listed!

The basket was very cute and will be in the room when you arrive. I use it in my craft room to keep misc supplies handy on my project table. It brings back Wonderful memories! We had the basket, a heart shaped box with chocolate truffles (we liked them), a photo album and a bottle of champagne. The door hanger that allows you to order your champagne breakfast is attached to the basket. Order it which ever day you wish.

The breakfast is a much more comprehensive menu that includes hot items as well as the option of a glass of champagne, not a bottle. I had an omlette and my DH had pancakes, an omlette and cresent rolls. We opted for juice, champagne and coffee. I will tell you that I didn't find the breakfast door hangers with the regular breakfast menu until I was packing to go home. They are in the desk drawer! Use them!!!!

Turn down service is on your Palo night. Our room attendant iced our champagne, brought in glasses and decked out the room with rose petals and the whole works. It was a great surprise for my DH who had no clue that the turn down service was part of the package. It was wonderful!

I really liked the way that the REAS package made our very short cruise very special. It seemed like there were so many treats for us to look forward to.

Make sure that you write "no sales pitch" on your info sheet for the massage therapists. They were very nice and didn't try to sell us a thing. Please plan to tip them, that is not part of your REAS package. We tipped $20 each, which seemed okay.

Enjoy! We really had a great time and I'm sure you will too! :cloud9:

Babybird,
We have cruised before and love DCL. We have been to the spa and love it. I agree about no sales pitch. On our last DCL we never filled out a info sheet so we very hit at every treatment.

This cruise is my birthday present. DH and I both have wanted to cruise DCL without the kids since our first DCL two years ago. We are looking forward to some alone time. Orginially we booked the REAS package for the Palo's ressies. On our second cruise we were lucky to get our ressie so I did not want to go thru that again. Now with the online booking we had thought about cancelling the package. But after seeing pictures of the basket, breakfast and turn down service, I thought it would be a great idea to keep. I can see where the can be romantic.

I truly appreciate your response. It does make me feel better to hear someone say they enjoyed it.

Look for a pm from me.

The spa services were never even put on our stateroom bill. Palo was but it was taken off the next day.

Personally I wouldn't do the REAS package again. I wanted to try the spa on the ship and we were going to eat at Palo anyways so I thought we would try the package. The gift basket is just okay. Like I said in the other thread the chocolates were disgusting. The picture book frame is very nice and we didn't even drink our champagne. I gave it to our room steward. :teeth:

Next cruise I am skipping the spa as I absolutely hated the hard sell on product. I have been to good spas and they never push the product. We will still to Palo because that just can't be skipped. :)

Yeah I hate the sales pitch at the Spa, but I do like to enjoy a few treatments on a cruise.

Does anyone know which massage to book online for the REAS package? Is it the "Well being Masage for couples" which is listed as 50 mins. and the price is $242. I am online right now trying to book it and any assistance would be great!!! TIA :)

I have read on another thread on this board you can. When you book ask the TA that helps so she can be forwarned. Then at 105 day out if your cruise is paid off she can book you two treatments. Sometimes you can do the Spa taster and/or the well being massage.

We booked the Romantic Escape At Sea (REAS) package via the cruiseline operator rather than online because I'd rather speak to a person and make sure the package was ordered. I, too ran into the same problem you did and couldn't figure out which one it was, that was the second reason I called directly. Are you going on the Wonder on the 17th? I found about 5 families so far, not much interest in the cruise meet section of this board. Guess everyone wants to do their own thing, which is okay.... Well, hope this helped you out. Any other questions feel free... :bounce: :bounce:

I heard you can get both massages for yourself from others who did this package. They suggested that you book the first massage and then tell them that you want the second one on another day....you can explain why and they're very accommendating. :bounce: :bounce:

Thanks JSME and Bacon Bits, I booked the "well being massage for couples" and luckily got a good time although there were only 5 choices of times LEFT!! Bacon Bits I AM going on the 17th as I see you are too! I've posted on that thread in the "cruise meets" section a couple of times as well. I'm also from Long Island (like duh heh heh). I'm stressing about having everything ready to go and haven't had much time to partake in meeting arrangements though. Two days left and I'm just completing my list of what to pack....sigh. :cool1:

Another question, if anybody knows...

Aren't you supposed to be able to make Palo researvations before your curise as a perk for this package? I went on-line to make the reservation and could not, so I asked my TA to do it. She tried on-line and also called Disney directly and they said I had to wait until I get onboard. Does this seem right?

Anybody know? Thanks!

Gabrielle

Thanks Momdoc!

I just talked to my TA again and she mentioned that because of the new on-line booking they have done away with priority booking for the REAS package. Still doesn't sound right but she is calling Disney direclty again to see what can be done.

Gaba, I booked our Palo res. for dinner online about a month ago with no problem. :confused3 I hope your TA can help you. :goodvibes

No it does not seem right at all. But it does have to do with your window. If you are not a certain amount of time away from your cruise no one can make the ressie. Olus you have to have it paid in full. I say this because this is exactly how it worked for us. Others on here, for some reason, have been able to book prior to the 90 day mark (mayve concerige) and prior to paying in full. But not us. I would call DCL again if you are in your time frame and ask what the problem is. One good reason, is it is full. Now with that being said, I do wonder if Disney thought about this package when they made the on-line ressies availalbe. I mean techically if your purchase the REAS package you are suppose to have Priority seating at Palo's. To me this means you should be able to make your ressie at anytime that you want. Now I am not saying this is the way it works! I am just saying one would take it this way. As soon as I could I made my own ressie on-line for Palo's. I had my TA make the massages for two reasons. I bought the package so I would not have the hassle of making ressies, plus I had no clue which massage to book.

We are actully on the repo cruise leaving August 20, so we are well within our time on this. And we are of course paid in full as well!

I did try to make on-line reservations for Palo when we were first paid off/within our time window but the system would not let me even then. I wasn't too worried about it because I thought that I could make them any time because I had the REAS. Now I am worried that I might not get them at all, and will have to do the "ressie rush" once onboard just to get reservations at Palo. One of the main reasons I booked REAS was so I did not have to do the ressie rush. I actually booked the REAS package long before this new on-line system started (I booked back in May 04). If this new system meant a change in the REAS package I think there should have been some notification. Maybe then I would have been a little more on top of this. Oh well, my own fault I guess. I should have not relied so much on the REAS and I should have had my TA call right away when I could not book when our window first opened up.

I sure hope there will be some reservations left when I get on board. They must save some, right?

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

I was wondering if the DCL is still going to offer the REAS package for 2006 and what the cost will be? A month ago- the DCL reservationist didn't know if they were going to still offer it for 2006?? Has anyone heard anything differently? :confused3 I hope they do- it sounds like a wonderful deal! :earsboy:

I haven't heard. I would not be surprised if they did not or at the very least they changed a few things.
