Day 2 – 9/30 Wonder

Day 2 was Nassau day and neither DBF nor I was all that anxious to spend time there…we were pretty bummed about having to miss Castaway Cay but didn’t really have much desire to see Nassau….after Maui? You have to go a LONG way to be prettier than that – LOL.

So…we did the Barb and Tony routine and pretty much treated Nassau as another “day at sea” – we had spa reservations for our Massage for 2 at 8:00a.m…and can I just say? WHAT a way to start the day! We had our Mickey wake up – everyone should do this once! At around 7:15 we roused ourselves and went upstairs for coffee on Deck 9. We meandered down to the Vista Spa and checked in for our spa tasters. It was FANTASTIC – Emily and Anna were our massage therapists and they were wonderful – though I must say it was a little odd. I am a massage JUNKIE but I’m not used to having anyone else in the room but the therapist! It was very intimate sharing it with Brian – a really romantic experience…in a NICE way, mind you ;). We had scheduled our champagne breakfast for that morning – it was yummy! We got back to our room for that at around 10:00am. We planned to go back to the spa to relax in the rainforest room later that day…

We decided to take a chance on Nassau after all – only lasted about an hour and a half – lol but got some nice pictures of the ship. We bought a couple of tee shirts at Senor Frog’s but I could not deal with the people accosting us in the straw market – just NOT my idea of a good time. So…back to the ship we went! What a WONDERful day! It was very quiet by the Quiet Cove pool – we met a couple of honeymooners - lilpritch04 from here on the Disboards and her new hubby, Dan. Very nice couple. We lounged in the sun and in the pool for most of this decadent day! Of course…I’m not sure if we HAD a day that WASN’T decadent. We made a trip to the BBB for some of the crab they had out that day – but I decided I just HAD to have hot dog from Plutos  I mean…after all, why not?? This was NOT a time to watch food intake! I even had ice cream with caramel sauce – YUM!! After feeling a bit guilty…we suited up around 4pm for a run down on Deck 4 which was just marvelous. I did eight laps! It felt super. Back to the spa we went for some time in the gym and then on to the rainforest room for some steam and warm stone loungers!! I could have dozed off – just thinking about this now makes me want to go back.

I have to just say right here that after this Disney cruise experience? I will be hard pressed to cruise with another line. I know I’m biased because it’s the company I work for…but I can’t help it!! I just LOVE Disney!!

We finished up and decided to get ourselves ready for the evening. We gussied up and went down to the atrium for some Bellinis – just delicious. We took them out on Deck 4 and just relaxed in the loungers, watching the day end in Nassau. Very romantic. Tonight was Palo night and we were READY! We ended up running into goofyforlife and her husband, Andy – from the Disboards – we sat right next to them! The dinner was everything I hoped it would be and more. Our waiter, Edu, seemed surprised when I order my tuna VERY rare – I mean…if it’s sushi grade ahi? I want it RARE!  I have to admit, I expected the food to be very good – but this was beyond that. My boyfriend had the filet which was superb – we split a pasta with gorgonzola sauce and chicken – WONDERful!! And the chocolate soufflé was everything I hoped it would be! We couldn’t wait to get that again! We were originally determined to try the different restaurants on the ship? But…I must admit….we put ourselves on the waiting list for dinner on Saturday night IMMEDIATELY.

After dinner, we went down to Wavebands for Match Your Mate – HYSTERICAL! I couldn’t breathe a couple of times I laughed so hard – and then we stayed for Karaoke and I actually got brave and was the first to sing! Got my Wonder “I’m a Winner” medal  - it was great fun – did a duet with another cruiser and then we left to walk up on deck for a while before bed. I really hated the day to end as it meant we were one day closer to the cruise being over…but our days were so full? It actually felt like we’d been away longer. I can’t WAIT to do a seven day!!

Sorry it’s taking me so long to finish this report and I hope I’m not boring everybody! I just loved reading these reports before I left and promised myself I post one – especially after our experience was so marvelous. Day 3 later….

Thanks!! I'm really enjoying your reports!! :)

You are not boring me at all. I would actually like more detail, please bore me to death....... As honeymooners, how did your fell about the children on the cruise. Was it overwhelming or did you feel like they were all doing their own thing somewhere else? Can't wait for the next "leg" of the journey !..

Thanks you guys! It actually makes me sad to relive it all over again because I just CANNOT wait to do it again.

LuvindisCruiser - we had a WONDERFUL, romantic time - and I promise, when you WANT to see kids? You do. When you don't, you don't!

I mean...because it's a Disney experience? The "kid stuff" can be REALLY cute and entertaining to watch - there was one moment when we stopped in the atrium and watched the kids getting their pictures taking with "formal" Mickey and Minnie? and watching this can bring tears to your eyes the children are so sweet and innocent - I mean, granted, there's always going to be one or two cranky ones - LOL - but for the most part? They are just ADORABLE! And like I said...it's easy to disappear....

There's a Senior frogs in Nassau??? Hmmmm maybe we should book the Wonder!!!

I'm interested in the REAS package too. So you are both in the same treatment room at the same time? Can an appointment be booked that way if it isn't through the REAS package or is that just a perk?

Had you made your reservations with Debbie ahead of time or did your TA do that for you?

What did you think of the champagne breakfast?

Would you book that package again?

Great report

loved your report- it all sounds so romantic!!

wonder how romantic ours will be with DS5

is the rainforest room included for the day when you book the REAS package?

Yes! I would DEFINITELY book the REAS again, if only to get the Palo's reservations...

Sorry I took so long to reply...we don't have our next Disney cruise booked yet so I get jealous coming on here and reading everybody's plans;)

The rainforest room was not included - but you get a discount because you've booked a treatment...I think it was around $8 per person...and WELL worth it I might add!! I would definitely add it on!
