Im quite disheartened right now.

Got our 3 week trip to WDW booked for September 13th with Ocean Florida. Dining Plan included and staying at Old Key West.

We've paid the deposit but i just feel we are not going to be able to pay for it in full in time. Life and bills has severally got in the way and has had a massive hinderance on our plans.

I was thinking about possibly moving the trip to April but looking at Ocean Florida's site, its policies seem harsh and we could loose everything we've paid already.

I really dont know what to do. Its making things to stressful in just everyday life now that im not as excited to go

It must be a scary thought, knowing that you might not be able to afford it. I guess I don't really have any words of consolation. For us, holidays don't happen if we can't afford to pay for them up front. If it is just a matter of needing a little bit longer to save up, have you considered getting an interest free credit card that you could use to pay the balance, which would give you longer after the event to pay it off? Have you tried speaking to ocean Florida and asking them whether there would be a fee for just changing the date? Their website does seem to suggest that one date change is permitted, so you might get lucky. Sometimes, companies can be a little bit more flexible if you discuss options with them, rather than the black and white printed in their Ts & Cs.

However, if you know that you honestly can't afford it, it might be worth cutting your losses and cancelling.

have you rang and asked them what fees you may have for changing and if they can do anything.hopefully you get it sorted and can make your trip or at least get it rebooked.

Ring them and see what they say, they may offer a different category of resort / room or change your dates for you. There must be some way they can help you with this, life has a way of throwing things at you when you can least feel up to dealing with it. Hopefully at some point in the future things will improve and having a holiday still there to look forward to can really boost your spirits and help you see ahead. Good luck

If you can't afford it, don't do it. The pain of losing a deposit will be nothing compared to the pain of paying off what is inevitably a very expensive holiday. But check if they can move the date for your first!

Agreed. My friend has just returned from an expensive holiday where the whole family were ill and so spent the majority of their time in their accommodation. At least it was all paid for so they can put it behind them and start saving for their next one, can't imagine how much more painful it would be if they had yet to pay it off.

Good luck.

We changed dates , room category and resort and they were so good about it, it trulu amazed me ...they didn't need any extra payments up front so that was good and since we also got the free full dining plan that helped too.

Would you consider cutting it down to 2 weeks? Would that make it more doable?

When we have been tight on funds we have gone without dining and cooked in the room. Do you have a 1 bedroom at OKW? if so you could cancel the dining plan and cook?

Emailed Ocean Florida and they are going to have a look at me and quote to go in April on the same trip. Said my deposit can move over OK too.

FloridaTix have said the same for what i've already paid towards my tickets.

Its not for definite that we are moving the trip to April but i'd rather do that than scrimp and stress now just to make the trip for September.

I think all i'll loose are the halloween events. Loose Food & Wine but got Flower & Garden instead.

Don't think any other shows or rides are expected to open between September and April

So glad they are sorting things out for you and the Flower and Garden Festival is still very enjoyable and they do things like butterfly and ladybug releases and the displays are usually pretty special. April
is a good month to visit it's often less humid than September making the days more pleasant to enjoy.

did you book when the ree dining offer was on ? will they be able to transfer that aslo as i know some of april is blackout for that offer. glad to hear they have been helpful and come back with some good alternatives for you

So pleased to hear that a solution seems likely! Once it's all sorted and your eventually there in April, you'll have forgotten all about this horrible stress! :)
